So what happens if the firm loses one of the main clients you work on? (Get fired, move around to diff teams etc...)??
I know someone that might be affected by the Activision layoffs, and he’s only 6 months out of UG. Any tips or advice that I could give him?
Deloitte's poor management & culture is starting to wear on me. Prob some residual resentment at how layoffs were handled tbh. Has anyone left D for another Big 4 & care to share if grass is greener?
I messed up. Told my roommate I would contribute to pay for a small couch since she sold the one she brought to our apartment with her for $ (got laid off). I am 21 and on a crazy strict budget. She is showing me $500-800 couches, while I was thinking of Facebook marketplace couches. If I could, I would give her the $ in the blink of an eye, but I literally CAN’T 😭 How do I tell her this after I already said I would? I know, I messed up here - salvageable?
Please pray for me. I got fired recently 😔.
Anybody get laid off in NYC? Can't imagine losing my job and being forced to pay this ridiculous rent
The more pedestrian your intellect, the better fit you are at D Heard of a colleague with an FRM charter being laid off today. Overall excellent person. And you won't believe who they promote year after year.. the character, curiosity and quality of the lifers Don't join this firm if you for a love of learning and to be inspired. Join if you are a middling who wants a good brand to hack ahead in life and rise above your station
Are jobs in Accenture less secure than the big4? I am hearing a lot of chatter around bench and how people are concerned about getting fired. Curious to hear real stories from Accenture employees.
Anyone ever transition from creative to account? Thinking that if I get laid off I might go after those roles too. How’d you get them to give you a shot?
I’m a rising third year in charge of a second year. I’m really struggling with the transition to becoming a midlevel. I got a talking to yesterday for missing some of the junior’s mistakes and I’m really scared to get fired…any advice on how to be better at managing juniors?
Anyone else beat themselves up over small mistakes at work. I’ll become obsessive about how stupid I am and how I think I’m going to get fired or never get promoted
Has anyone ever added/negotiated a clause guaranteeing favorable terms in the event of a layoff as part of their employment contract?
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.
A little birdie told me time to jump ship, layoffs are coming... this firm is terrible with managing staff/forecasting needs - hope they trim at the top this time...ugh
Saw exited out being used. Coached out is already neutral enough. Just interesting that we don't call it what it is. Released, fired, let go
Has anyone been fired? Recently happened to me and I'm struggling with how to deal with it. Like how do I tell my SO, parents, friends?
TFW a "senior copywriter" writes "your" instead of "you're". Proper usage: Get your shit together or you're fired.
I am thinking to resign after maternity leave ends so I can take care of the baby and find some job less demanding than big 4. The company has leave on absence, which extends my maternity leave. Does it look bad I resign right after my extended maternity leave? Has anyone been there, done that? When is the best time to give notice in this case?
I have a first round interview with United Airlines Friday for their FP&A dept. Any tips/topics to specifically prepare for? Only had a manager reach out to me via email to schedule the interview; no HR or discussion regarding what the 45 minute interview will be centered around. Any and all insight is appreciated!
How do you guys handle calling out of work for being sick while on a tight audit? I do not feel well but I feel the pressure of working though the pain Bc I’m behind. I don’t want to fail my team.
im a project management analyst with 1 year of technology experience and ~1.5 years of experience supporting the project management office. how do i upskill myself in the project management field
🐳🐬🐡🐟🐠 I love diversity😊
I have recently been promoted to Senior Associate and will be having my compensation call later this month. I wanted to ask what are other Big 4 first year senior associate's salaries in the Bay Area? OR what is a reasonable % pay raise considering the COVID environment?
Are L1 VISA applications being considered now? Do you know anyone in your acquaintance who has recently gotten their L1?
I feel like the Senior manager has to redo all (or a lot) of my work. I’ll suggest something, they’ll modify or reject it and then make a decision. Then I’ll execute on that decision and I didn’t have the best idea and it’ll be tweaked again or something comes up and the approach didn’t actually work based on th support. I’m an A2 up for promotion so I should be performing like a new senior, but I feel like it’s clear that I’m not close. For more context, it’s a first year audit so maybe that...
Any product managers looking for a new role? Best friend is director of product at Guild Education and she has several positions open. Shoot your shot!
Been testing Blockfolio 2.0. New UI is sick, plus there’s a lot of new small features that I think will help come tax season. In the meantime show this article some love by giving it the claps. https://blog.blockfolio.com/announcing-blockfolios-11-5m-series-a-financing-round-a1310f6aeebb
Delta broke my checked in luggage wheel and is reimbursing me around $150. What should I get? Domestic carry-on mostly.
The cost of living calculator said I would need to have a 51% salary increase in order to have the same lifestyle in NYC. I’m currently making ~105k, which means I should make $158k to maintain my standard of living. My standard of living currently is that I’m single, have a one bedroom apartment for $1700/mth + utilities, no pets and no car. I like to cook during the week, and dine out on weekends. Prefer workout classes to a standard gym. Is this CoL accurate?
Whats the timeline for MBB background checks i.e. when does it start relative to accepting the offer and how long does it take? Accepted an offer with a February start date and want to get it over with ASAP. One last thing standing between me and putting in my notice 🙏
Are big 4 partner and directors allowed to respond to interviews requests with background check providers to talk about former employees history? KPMG
