Try a neti pot.... warm saline water that ‘cleans’ nasal passages. No chemicals=no side effects. I use http://www.neilmed.com/usa/index.php
These are great for colds and sinuses - however be sure to sanitize before and after use. There are some pretty gnarly stories of water-borne bacteria and amoebas getting into people’s nasal canals.
Tylenol, Robitussin, Vicks Vaporizer. I had the flu when preggo.
Listen to your doctor not to strangers on the internet. If you need a second opinion get it from another doctor.

Common cold isn’t usual a concern during pregnancy I don’t think? But I would listen to your doc
Called doc. Said colds not dangerous for baby. Wife can take Tylenol but not cold flu version or DayQuil or NyQuil
Catching a cold is not concerning during pregnancy. Tylenol IS pregnancy safe (aspirin is typically not recommended), so I would make sure you heard your doctor correctly on that. You can look up safe cold/flu remedies for pregnancy. But really, there is no concern for the baby because of a cold. Yes, your wife has a lowered immune system but that doesn’t mean she’s incapable of fighting a cold. Pregnant women get colds all the time and are completely fine. Rest & fluids are probably your best bets for feeling better.
