My wife is about to make partner and wants an awesome suit. We're going to be in London for a few weeks. For women, is it worth it going to Saville row? If not, any recommendations?

Birthday suit

Congrats to your wife, and good on you for looking for a way to celebrate

Then yes it's worth if she values the craftsmanship that is put into the suit. Completely bespoke suits using top quality fabrics and construction are like high end watches, for luxury's sake - because you can. Some people couldn't care less about a high end watch because they like their Apple watch.

like

But they do in fact cater to women, correct? I've found no shortage of bespoke options for men in the US where we live, but finding comparable quality, or even a tailor that understands construction of a female suit, can be a challenge.

I can’t personally speak for anyone in particular at Savile Row because everything is way out of my range, but a friend of mine in IB went to Edward Sexton for a bespoke suit and she loves it.

Whichever one you go with it’d be a fun, memorable way to commemorate making partner with a tangible reminder. And a well-fitted power suit is always great to have. Congratulations to your wife! I hope to one day make it there 😊

**I’ve heard good things about Katheryn Sargent too, but I don’t know anyone who’s had her make them a suit

Definitely go to a tailor / shop that specializes in women’s suits. I made the mistake of not, and the suit is just off. The guys who had suits from the same tailor were super happy though. Relevant experience matters, and it’s more than having the measurements

Depends on how often she wears suits.

I’m not sure if this happens to you, I’m constantly intimidated and feel judged by white men and women and/or people born in the US for having a strong foreign accent in the US. Nobody says that to my face, but I can see it in people’s actions. This has severely affected my confidence and I focus more on the way I pronounce some words rather than the content. How do I battle this situation? Would definitely like both perspectives.

Newly diagnosed & medicated and new to consulting.
I’m great with clients but getting bad evaluations because I’m slow to produce work and don’t take time to communicate status.
I’m trying really hard but I keep getting stuck in perfection loops and scared to share things before they’re perfect.

Did you struggle with this & find a way to improve? I’m terrified I’m going to get counseled out, but I love this job so much.
