Fish, I’m up for a promotion in April and pretty certain I’ll be promoted to a PM role at a (big) e-commerce co. I’m definitely underpaid in my role right now, and want to make sure I come prepared to talk comp at my review, because I should be making about $40K more for the Manager position based on industry rates. Any advice on how to speak to a larger salary when given the promotion? Should I bring it up right away or schedule a follow up meeting with HR?

So I have my bachelors in criminal justice and I just finished my paralegal certificate course today. My attorney should be making partner this year. With that being said I told her that I would complete my certificate by the summer around the time she would make partner. I’m over my company. I just recently got passed over for a promotion to a level 8 manager position. Weird thing is it is for the team I am on. I been on this team for several years and I’m the lead developer pretty much in my role. It’s ETL btw. The hiring manager said I can do the role definitely but the reason they went with someone else was they had more breadth. Anyone has thoughts on situation and/or know some good companies I should check out with roles in data?

CTR, contracts and department overhaul

our marketing dept is undergoing a complete overhaul. under old leadership, a $75k 12-mo contract was signed to a marketing group that handles our SEO, blog and everything Google Ads. All things I can and am in training to do. Current CTRs on G ads seem pitiful at no more than 0.75%. My meta ads coast around 4-6%. During this overhaul, would it be wise to not renew our contract, and negotiate for me to take over these roles and leverage a raise?

Wanted to get some advice:

I just got a promotion from FA to SFA in our Corp Strategy/FP&A group after working there for a little less than 1 yr. Only offered a ~4% raise with the promotion going from 75k to 78k. I negotiated and now they are saying 90k is the absolute most my bosses can “try for” but that HR will most likely approve something below that. I feel this is still below market. Tempted to leave but this is already my third job in less than 4 years. Would you consider leaving?

Over the last 12 months my role changed significantlu so in Jan I approached the CEO about a raise and promotion more in line with my work and he said yes - but not until until the end of Q1 when budgets are finalized. Covid hit and I was told all promotions and raises were put on hold. I never got a Q2 review bc my manager said the raise was up in the air still. But on Friday the CEO sent an email listing 17 promotions, not including me. Im meeting w my manager tomorrow but idk what to say.

AVOID AGODA AT ALL COSTS. First they only had interview times 7pm to 3am, none during working hours. Then come interview time, I wait 3+ minutes in no one shows up and then I get an automatic email saying the interview has been canceled. I also then get an auto email saying they moved on but the recruiter emails a few minutes later saying they are trying to reschedule. A waste of my time and money preparing, putting on makeup, outfit and contacts, and skipping dinner.
