Honestly, ditch the law, start a boulangerie, and live the life I've been dreaming of. Or let me trade places with you, I'll be your wife's gay boulanger and bake bread all day while singing La Vie en Rose.
OP, they can't get you for your loans if you're abroad! (Vet that with a lawyer, don't rely on this as sound legal advice.)
Many US firms have offices in a Paris — White & Case, Skadden, Orrick, DPW, a long list. Go work for one of them.

Congrats to your wife! How lovely!! Hopefully they will make an exception for you
Yeah I heard they do not like that Covid passport the government made.

About to ask my firm about moving to Canada. I know it’s different because I’m not changing time zones, but if they let me work remotely, maybe yours will too? I’ll update you.
Want to see the result here. I thought it was a serious tax issue for the firm
If they didn’t already have a Canadian office. But I’ll wait to see what your firm says.
Ross?! Is that you??

My firm has a generous remote policy and a Paris office but might be tough overall. Feel free to DM.
Does your firm have a Paris office?
You need to find out about French rules on unauthorised practice of law - some jurisdictions would look at practising foreign law as unauthorised practice of law if you're not also qualified in the jurisdiction you are located in.
Also, tax - you would probably have to pay CA and French tax.
According to my French colleague being called to the bar in France is hard (and obviously you need to be fluent in French) but EU countries all have reciprocity I think so you could try to get admitted in eg Ireland which is more similar to US law (I am no expert in this, just thinking of potential solutions).

Let me know if you want to chat about a Orrick. I’d love the referral!!
I worked with a candidate last year who had moved to France and gotten married while still working out of her firms's NY office. I helped her move to the Brussels office of a Magic Circle firm (her husband could work from Paris or Brussels). The six hour time difference was killing her and she knew she wouldn't make partner in that arrangement.
So what I'm saying is, it can be done.
