TIL one of my kid's high school teachers calls weekly quizzes "celebration of knowledge" Yeah...
Have a friend telling me to get in on the baby dinos NFT drop at 2pm. I’ve never invested in an NFT but I do know what NFTs are. What should I be considering before I make my decision?
Anyone watching Indian Matchmaking? Aparna and her mother have to be the worst, right? She thinks she's a godsend and quite frankly she looks like a potato, is ignorant, doesn't sound nearly as intelligent as she professes to be, and is even more negative than I am! That's gotta say something.
I work with several people with kids and I have noticed quite often that they completely disregard any issues of people with no kids and try to one up work life imbalance conversations with stories of them being parents. It must be hard being a parent but I don’t think people at work should be treated differently or given any additional consideration just because they have a kid. You already get parental leave so If I’m expected to work 12hr I ask the same to be expected from my peers with kids.
My friend just had a baby. I want to get her some meals for the next few weeks, so she doesn't have to worry about cooking. Any ideas?
Is their a site similar to the knot’s wedding website where I can create a baby site? I wanted to add maternity photos to share with friends/ family, gender reveal video and baby registry.
Who brings a crying baby on a 6am flight? 🙄
WLB at MBB (including during COVID)? Thinking about moving over from Big 4 (at Manager or Associate level), but also don’t want to grind like I did in my 20s …since I’m thinking about becoming a new father in the next 2 yrs
Mamas, how much did you spend on maternity clothes? I’ve had some gifted and bought some support tanks and leggings and looking to invest for the last 4 months. Probably one-and-done, so won’t reuse
It's a shame that it took me eating out 4 times a week in major cities to realize how truly excellent of a cook my mother is. Here's to you ma 🍻🍮🍝🧀
Baby outgrew the nuna pipa in his 6th month… what car seat would you all recommend? Kinda confused and haven’t done enough research around this because I thought this day wasn’t coming around for atleast another year! Apparently not! Any recommendations on what we could go for?
Ladies need some advice. Ex started dating this chick with a kid and has been pushing our 5 year old to be this big happy family. Got notified from school he’s been crying for no reason after weekend
I am hoping some people can help me here. My SO is in this horrible pit of depression and they are pushing me away. They have all these colliding events in the last few months: father has Alzheimer’s.
Need advice from more experienced fishes. How much should I increase my FSA contribution if I plan to (try to) get pregnant next year?
Hypothetical here: you are a parent and your child got into two schools for undergrad. The first school is a US top 30 University out-of-state, but you have to pay full sticker price ($60k+ per year). The second school is a good in-state university and 20% the cost. If your child goes in-state, you agree to invest the residual ($50k per year) in an S&P 500 fund that releases upon graduation. What is the best outcome for your child?
I’ve really been having the urge to get out of consulting lately. I’m hesitant to leave Deloitte however Bc my husband and I plan to start a family in about 2 years and I know deloitte’s 16 week parental leave policy is rare in the marketplace. Mom’s - do you feel like it’s worth sticking around another 2ish years for the parental leave benefit? (FYI i am newly promoted to SC)
I am currently on maternity leave. I missed utilization targets because of travel restrictions and was not rated highly for my performance last year. I am concerned I could be laid off when I return or before - my federal and state protection for pregnancy has ended. This is making me very anxious and not letting me enjoy my bonding time with my little one. Any advice on how I can change my mindset or be more calm is much appreciated. Thanks!!
What’s it’s like to work at Mother in ny ?
EY Product manager salary range for Tax Lab. IC in HCOL around 5-6 YOE expected in job posting. Wanted to know a range so can think of applying. Moving from tech to consulting.
Partner comp in management consulting: want to understand the difference in base vs bonus and the ramp up time. E.g.: at legacy EY-Parthenon a first year partner should expect ~500k base with a very small bonus. The compensation is guaranteed the first year (not subject to performance), and gets adjusted annually based on revenue figures. By 5th year partners are expected to get close to ~1m. Please reply for your firms!
Best CFP continuing education providers? Not looking to just get the credits done, but something in depth to relearn things I️ may have forgotten.
I am new to RR this year. I am excited about this new journey and created this group to hear advice and tips for classroom setup, organization, and time management. Thanks to all who comment!
What is the salary range for a software engineer with 3 years of full-stack experience in NYC? I have a friend that just finished a Bootcamp and is getting paid $135K versus someone with the same experience as me getting $120k.
Is there a standard package for strategy and ops role at FB (4 years post MBA)? I just have no context on what base/bonus might be and what is standard in terms of stock/signing bonus. Thoughts?
Does anyone know how Wharton announces interviews tomorrow? Is it over email or phone? It says until 5pm so wonder if it’s rolling all day…
VRBO - really going to spend millions to try to get people to call them “ver-bow” Why? And the logo is bad too.
Hi all, I am currently working at RB but I am interested in exiting to a tech strategy/product role after a few years. I was recently contacted by a recruiter at Publicis Sapient, and they do a lot of digital consulting. Which would position me better for FAANG in the future? RB but virtually no digital consulting, or a digital consulting house like Publicis Sapient? TIA
Can anyone help me evaluate whether I should take an exit opportunity. Currently in big 4 (fsrm) and have the opportunity to join a f250 payments firms internal strategy division. They report directly to the c-suite and said they mainly focus on strategy or M&A and don’t do implementation. The team seems really nice but I’m just worried about leaving consulting and leaving the accelerated progression. Would love some insights as I’m fairly lost on what to decide. Thanks!

As a writer from the US looking to move to Europe, would I have a better chance applying to agencies in The UK or someplace where being a native English speaker is less common, like France?
Hi Fishes I joined EY GDS this month but not liking the work in the assigned project. It is not as per my expectations and not suitable as a developer. I have another offer from Bristlecone. Any suggestions? Should I continue working with EY GDS to have a brand name or switch to Bristlecone company (high probability of good project) Thanks in advance!
Any good recommended books on how to build a scalable product and team? I'm looking for recommendations for two areas: 1) in general laying the groundwork in a startup to have the tools and especially processes in place to scale, and 2) tactical focus on building a SaaS project. I've been promoted into a management role from Dev roots, so need to learn more PM processes to be an effective manager in day job, plus would like to start building my own SaaS solution.
Hoping to get some input on exit paths from tax. I’ve been at a small local firm for 2.5 years, got my CPA license this year, expecting promotion to senior after evaluations in December. Overall I’m pretty happy where I’m at now, the company has a good culture and no one works crazy hours. But I don’t plan to stay in public accounting for my entire career and have heard that the year after senior promotion is a good time to make a change. I’m concerned that
Where do you work, and what educational benefits does your employer provide? Currently working full time and taking some classes toward my master’s. I’ve been at my firm for a little over 2 years as it was my first gig out of undergrad. It provides an annual stipend for education, but I’m bored, unchallenged, unfulfilled, and underpaid. I want to explore what other companies offer to make an educated decision as to whether I should go elsewhere. TIA!
