Accepted an offer for a MM in FDD, but my current employer is offering 15k to stay, and will transfer me to the service line I desire (I have it in writing). Base is 10k more, and benefits and exits better at B4. Any reason not to stay? Not looking forward to reneging but seems like an easy decision
Hi All. I am a Mom-to-be. Have ample of time to plan for the arrival. Looking to learn from the experiences of new parents here. Please share your experiences around: 1. Looking for inputs on career progression from experts. I am a PL/SQL developer (mostly in healthcare domain) from last 15 years and working remotely since last 5 years. I have some exposure of Cognos but many years back. Things are getting monotonous and I am looking for an advice to understand what related data technologies should I learn or certifications which will help in my career progression as not sure if PL/SQL is sustainable in a longer run.
Has any other school made vaccination mandated for all employees? Do to me no welling to be vaccinated I will no long have a job after Christmas break. What is everyone’s thoughts on this??
Just read an article about how the first doses of the vaccine will be doled out. Am I the only one who is really heartened by the global response to COVID-19? Sure, the US and other countries led by conservative despots bungled it, but, on the whole humanity came together, wore masks, hunkered down, made a vaccine in record time. These actions were largely motivated by fear but also compassion for vulnerable people. I mean, we did it y’all!

What types of healthcare consulting does PwC do? I have an interest in public health, but I also like physician enterprise/productivity but I’m not sure if they have these offerings or not
What are consulting firms' relationships with the continent like right now. In the past, I've worked for a few firms which had London as a hub servicing continental clients and I'm curious about how Brexit and/or Covid-19 are affecting that. Are other European countries ramping up their local teams, or are they working on the assumption that nothing changes and the UK will continue to augment their numbers on assignments?
My 4 YO takes riding lessons at a small barn outside of the city. I hopped on a horse there recently for old time's sake, but haven't really ridden in years. A casualty of the legal profession, along with the rest of my hobbies from my former country life. His instructor asked me if I'd be willing to get back in the saddle. Part of me is like, this is the change I need. It will help me lose this COVID-15lbs. But I'm also terrified and I have no idea why. (cont)

First year here as a general staff accountant. Midsize. Been asking scheduling for work but only managed to get 10 hours of billable work last week doing a couple 1040s... I also ask around yet everyone says they’re fine. It’s still considered busy season here since I’m at midsize and it feels wrong not hitting atleast 40 billable hours. It would suck if I got laid off cause of it. 🥴

Curious how being a ‘CISSP Candidate’ (passes the exam but doesn’t have experience requirements) would fair in a job search. Better to get years of experience requirement before looking, or is passing the exam enough?

Decision time: I got offered a position with EY and also got an offer from a mid-tier firm. The mid-tier is paying about $14k more than the Big 4. Is it wise to just not consider the pay difference and just go Big 4 to have it on my resume? I could negotiate but I feel like the answer will be no.
I have a big interview coming up this Friday but just can’t get my head in the game to prep for it. Help
