Why are people so hesitant to hire disabled candidates?

I am a visually impaired practitioner in South Africa, with 7 years of experience, and as soon as recruiters or business owners hear/read that I'm disabled, the conversation gets awkward and I never hear from them again.

how does one go about choosing their industry? have an interview and expected to be asked which industry and why, but i have no prior experience in the field so hard to choose

I'm 18+4 weeks pregnant. I'm worried about weight gain - specifically too little weight. Only gained about 5 lbs in total, and for the last 2 weeks nothing at all.
