Thanks!!

You definitely want one you can watch on your phone. We use the nest one but bought years ago so not sure if there is something better on the market now.

Think there is an Amazon one someone recommended to me as well.

My best friend & I got pregnant around the same time. We didn’t know the other was even trying - just a happy surprise. But now I am going through a miscarriage and I don’t know how to feel. Lots of jealousy, but I’m still so happy for them. I knew it was a possibility (1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage) but why did it have to be me? I don’t want to go to her gender reveal next week, it’s still just so painful but I feel like a horrible person for harboring these negative feelings towards her.

I am about to return to work after maternity leave. I have a 4 month old and a two year old. Our daycare is periodically closing due to COVID. We don’t have family nearby to help when daycare closes and I’ll be headed into busy season upon my return. I’m already on a reduced schedule. No one else I know is in my shoes in my group/office at EY. How have your families in similar situations dealt with this? I feel like I’ll be very unreliable as we head into the busy season.

Anyone else randomly get mad at something that happened to you as a kid? For example, I was in a meeting this afternoon and out of nowhere, I reminded myself of my Little League days when my coach embarrassed me in front of my team for being the first baseman who couldn’t afford a first baseman’s glove. I mean I was playing the field just fine with a Nomar Garciaparra glove that was a little too small for my hand 🤷‍♂️

Desi folks (male specifically) - how have you dealt with marital issues? It’s unfortunate but men are not known to show emotions. Me and my wife have had so many issues. I also can’t initiate a divorce due to a child in our marriage. I feel like mentally I’m not in a good place and really lost on what to do. I’m constantly depressed, have contemplated suicide and just overall not in a good place but I’m keeping this all to myself and not talking to anyone

I have a petty sister-in-law who insists that my husband and I live a life doing whatever we want and I don't go to see my bro or nephew because I don't care for them. Mind you I go over minimum once a week, even if just for 30 mins cause I enjoy seeing the baby. Is it worth confronting her when she posts shade on her IG immediately after a convo with my bro about not passing by. My next instinct is to ignore and stop reaching out to them (I usually initiate)

You all inspired me (see post below about looking for a physical challenge that won’t kill me). I think I’ll try a triathlon/sprint triathlon. Any tips? I think (?) I can swim - I know I learned when I was a kid, but I haven’t actually swam in a few decades. I can definitely ride a bike and I can run. Not looking to win any medals, I’m just looking for a challenge that will keep me engaged.

My MIL has made remarks to my husband that she doesn’t understand why we need a nanny for our infant since I am able to WFH (I’m a biglaw associate). She also doesn’t get why we have a cleaner and dog walker and seems to imply we’re wasting our money by outsourcing funds on things we can do. She was a SAHM so I guess I understand why she feels that way, but how do I explain to her why these things are necessary? I actually love my MIL but this is driving me nuts.

Hi I’m pregnant and due in august. I’m scheduled for the vaccine in two days and reading about (1) the side effects with the second dose and (2) lack of testing for those who are pregnant has me nervous about potential effects to my baby. Any thoughts on whether to get/not get the vaccine? Already consulting my doctor on this but figured y’all might be good to ask, as well.

Has anyone here been in the situation where you’ve been taking a prescribed ADD drug for years and now want to stop for pregnancy? Been taking it for 18 years and truly need it in order to function/concentrate. I have been trying to wean off it, but with filings & trial coming up, I don’t see how I can. I really want to get pregnant (already have frozen embryos ready to go via IVF) and am almost 40. I’m consulting with my dr, but was wondering if anyone else has advice from their own experience.

I had a parent of one of my students ask today if I tutor over the summer. It had never crossed my mind, but I know it would be insanely beneficial for him. He’s a tough kiddo and relationships are key for him. Summer school with someone new likely would not be nearly as helpful, and he’s on my roster for multiple years. Has anyone done this?

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia for retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax, va(ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity. What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!
