Don’t worry about it . Some people perceive you as a mom to a certain gender and when you say another they feel disappointed . It’s weird . For example, all my colleagues expect me to have a girl as I would be a good role model to her. Likewise my MIL wanted a boy for us for some weird reason . When we found the gender we decided to not tell anyone ,as it’s a girl . Now my daughter is 3 years , I can tell my MIL absolutely adores her . She cares for her everyday when me and husband are out . If she can’t see my daughter even for one day she FaceTimes . Some people have gender preferences and as a parent we want only happy and healthy . But as long as those are good people you trust , their gender preferences will vanish the moment they see the little one .
Her usual good natured way. But... weird, no?
Lol it’s a bit weird but people are weird. I wouldn’t read too much into it. When I was pregnant with my first, someone said “oh I’m glad it’s a boy. I can’t imagine you being a mom to a girl” likely because I’m very tom-boy-ish if that’s still a thing in your 30s. Now I’m pregnant with #2, not sure yet if it’s a boy or girl but if it’s a girl...awkward!
