I am 8 years experienced and I worked in 3 companies out of which 1st and 3rd company (Deloitte) managers are no more. Both of them expired due to cardiac arrest and they were physically fit. Guys, care for your health. Don't ignore health for work or money.
I’m on an L1 visa with my firm here in the US however I want to work for other companies. A green card will take too long to process, any other suggestions? Is it possible to ask my firm to move me to a H1B and then apply to other companies?
I am underpaid as an ACD. Took this job to get out of a bad situation. I was on PiP in December partially because I was struggling mentally and with family issues but have been crushing it since. How long until I can ask for a raise without having my struggles thrown in my face?
What are people’s thoughts on sending thank you emails vs thank you cards? Want to know if it seems too much. And when in the process in a series of interviews makes sense to send one or the other?
I currently work in a hybrid sales/marketing role. However, I would love more experience in marketing specifically so I can move in to a marketing specific role. Does anyone have a suggestion of books or articles, podcasts, organizations to follow that will allow me to stay up to date on the latest trends but also help prepare for a marketing centric role? Thank you
Stay at Deloitte as an M and try for SM promotion in 2023 or try to level up now at another firm? Current base is $185K with 12 YOE. M&A IT. I know M to SM moves across firms are tough. Assuming I can make the transition for argument’s sake, should I invest my free time in the holiday season into making the transition? Reasons for moving: Cut down M to SM timeline by a year or two, potentially increase my pay from $185K to the mid $200s.
What are your thoughts on the new SEC BIC ruling and who will be most affected wire houses or insurance BD’s?
In negotiations to lateral to a firm that specializes more in what I want to do long term, but concerned by lack of diverse partners. How worried should I be?
Would some please explain the benefits (i.e., tax advantage) of maxing out 401K, HSA, and IRA? I am doing it because I have learned it’s the right thing to do but not sure I understand why. TIA
What's the typical range for GPS Managers at Deloitte in DC area? Trying to gauge the range to expect coming in as - Currently Big4 manager - 6 years of exp. - No MBA - Internal audit, PM, Analytics background
New client is 3.5 hours away driving (NJ to DC). Can't decide between driving, Amtrak or flying. Only 4 weeks of travel so I guess flying wouldn't benefit much from losing out on points.
Curious to hear the feminine perspective on this post. Someone mentioned using seeking.com presumably for the more traditional sugar daddy/baby dynamic. But several other commenters said they use it do regular dating, and that many women on there are using it to filter to successful/financially stable men for ltr. Do any women here actually do this and if so has it been worthwhile? I’m tired of Bumble/Hinge but I don’t know if this is a good step or not? Or are there other dating websites you’d recommend https://joinfishbowl.com/post_h1fxsshrrt

Good day all! I am seeking successful female attorneys ~ those who've paved their own paths ~ to tell their stories, of what’s possible, to inspire other females ~ those who want to bail on big law, grow their own law practices, focus on a family, or even seek something... well... totally different for her career...for my podcast. The podcast is conversational, not formal interview style. DM if you have a story to tell, or if you know someone who does!
In-person interview coming up next week for an associate position, and I want to make sure I focus on discussing the right points..any tips?
