Audible subscription and a dog?

Hmm, I think Audible is connected to Alexa, since they’re both Amazon. As I think about this, maybe help convert the house to a smart home so he can control more things with voice activation (Alexa, Siri)? It doesn’t have to be high tech so much as intuitive and inclusive.

Think about what he does regularly and about something that could improve or make that thing more enjoyable. For example, my dad mows his large lawn ever week in the summer. We got him ear muffs that are noise canceling and Bluetooth so he could listen to stuff while he mows. My random thoughts, a nice pillow, new can opener that is more ergonomic, a nice dinner at some restaurant.

Working with a financial advisor who is trying to sell me on Indexed Universal Life Insurance (IUL) as an investment vehicle. Supposedly there’s no downside risk and 5-7% returns and it’s not taxed. It seems too good to be true and makes me raise an eyebrow. Wondering if anyone has any insights into this or if my advisor is taking me down a risky path.

Do all therapists use the line, “I’m not taking any new patients at this time.” When they don’t want to see someone?! I found someone who would be perfect and got that line. Seems like I’ve gotten that line every time I’ve reached out to a counselor… has anyone successfully gotten past that barrier? Do they not want to take on someone who has insurance and would rather get the full bill rate in cash?
