Thoughts on move into PM for a pay cut? Currently in a business role at a large tech co but interested in trying out the PM role. 6 months of internal recruiting led to some final rounds but no offers. Got an offer for PM I at a mid size (1k FTE) local tech firm at a $15k pay cut ($130 k+ $10k signon). Debating whether I should restart recruiting and stay at current role or take this offer. Any big considerations on why I should consider passing?

Just landed a new role in PE (IR/marketing) and not sure what to do about dress code. It looks like the office is more casual (Patagonia vests, khakis, dress pants, button downs, etc.) but given I’m one of a few females & will be the youngest female in the team, any suggestions are welcome!

I’ve largely worked in business casual workplaces up until this point, so any recs on brands, good suit jackets & similar attire would be immensely helpful.

Career trajectory question:
I would like to maneuver away from roles emphasizing sales / soft-skills into a more technical role within 6 months (having relatively limited data analytics experience and 0 SWE experience).
It seems impossible to accomplish this much learning while still working full-time. Is additional schooling the answer? I don’t however want to lose the leverage that being employed gives to job-hunting (unless necessary). How would you go about accomplishing this?

If you interview multiple times with the same firm (e.g. Microsoft) but don't get offers, does it count against you? I.e. do the hiring managers/ recruiters in that firm start wondering what's wrong with you and if you are a fit for that firm? Since they know you've had multiple unsuccessful interviews.

Hi friends! Advice pls. I’m in my mid twenties and am currently in an analyst position making less than 80k. Given my experiences/qualifications, it’s definitely not enough. I am now interviewing with another firm which shared I’ll be making 40-50% more (also in analyst position). Not sure if I’ll make it past the interview, but if I do should I definitely take the job? Yes the money is closer to where I’d like to be, but I’d be leaving my current firm after only a year (cont. in comments)

Please help me think straight here. If I have maxed out 401k, Roth, HSA, is it still a good strategy to contribute to the max tax deductible amount per the 529 plan even if someday my kiddo doesn't use it, and I'll pay 10% penalty plus the income tax of whatever income bracket I'd be at age 65 to cash out because the tax bracket will be likely to be lower than where I am now.
Also is the tax deduction retroactive, meaning that I'll contribute with post tax $$ and get $ back via tax return?
