Anyone have tips for cover letter/resume to stand out?
They are huge on not negotiating salary there based on their blog.
Anyone know the base salary/expected commission? - It requires you to answer on the application. I would be so thrilled to work at the company I just want to put what they start out at.

1.) you will always remember the moments with your parent that year rather than what you sacrificed for them
2.) one year will not set you back long term
3.) you’re killing it - keep killing it and you will earn that promo again
4.) you’ve made it through the roughest part of your journey
5.) I hit a setback in my career and came back with a vengeance, landing a two level promo with another company. Made up for it and then some
...obviously promo is not happening. Since coming back i’ve continued to crush it again. Hard not to be frustrated over my mid year and life. I sacrificed a lot to help my older parents and had to sacrifice a promo as well. Rn i’m bummed because I am doing all the work of an SC but not an SC. Worried in the long term this will set me back a lot. 😞

You will always remember being at the right place at the right time for your family. Careers are long but moments in time with your family are just that - moments you may not be able to extend or repeat in the future. In a few years you will not remember or care if your promo was early, late or on time. Sounds like you are still early in your career and this won't even appear on the radar in the future, trust me.
OP, I am incredibly sorry for the loss of your parent. I hope your healing is going okay.
Regarding the promotion - it sucks. It hurts. It happens. I've been there twice due to other reasons (mat leave), but the sting of killing it at work without having the title doesn't go away - especially as you see peers move ahead. That said, you're a hard worker and you know how to excel - if you're motivated, you will get there. And a few months or a year won't hold you back in your career in the long term.
Talk to your mentors and coaches, assess what you're doing now and how you can achieve the milestone you're working towards and in what time frame. If you're not happy, there are other firms and other jobs you can target.
We are here to help you and are rooting for you! Please don't feel remorseful about taking time off to be with your family, you did the right thing and will likely emerge stronger for it ❤️
OP please don't take your job too seriously. I went through the same. Used up six months of my FMLA, have up on the hope that I would even come back. I am here now in US again and going back as dad is sick now. I think the firm gives us ways to balance such situations. Promotions can wait. Moments don't come back.
