Need a pretty substantial loan currently ($50k+) to pay for immigration lawyer fees for the family (very complicated immigration stuff unfortunately). Could anyway direct a reliable lending agency? Googling online and seems like there are websites that find rates for me. Is there a better way to do this? I have great credit score (750+) and currently have a green card though not citizenship.

Stilt gives personal loans to H1B or even F1visa holders. I find their response while you’re servicing the loan slow but used them twice so far and the rates were not crazy

Did 10k through SoFi, enjoyed the experience sans being in debt 10k of course.

Check with your back or credit card company. Boa offers 3.99% apr loan on credit card. I believe that's the lowest rate on personal loan

like

Just want to follow up on this - when did you apply for that loan? Just talked to BOA and seems like they don’t do personal loans anymore so not sure if I should have been explicitly with credit card loans.

Check to see if you can take loan against 401k.

Will be getting proceeds from a house sale shortly ($175K or so), and then will be completing purchase of new house around December. Suggestions on best place to park the house sale proceeds in meantime? Looks like best savings rate our current bank can manage is .06% right now. Not even sure we can get that rate since we only park funds there for 4 months.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

Wife and I (about 33 year old) are immigrants working in Seattle on work visa and have 1 infant. Our combined household income is $450k with no debt and about $500k in savings (cash, stocks, 401k all inclusive). We are looking to buy a house but quite confused as to what should be our budget. Any suggestions on where to draw the line on how much to spend will be super helpful.

Would love if anyone has a role in Rome, Italy, or remote, or UK with Visa sponsorship (Tier 2 Skilled Worker) untill I can swap her onto a spouse Visa.

Last year I received an offer at Deloitte Belgium but due to Brexit & VISA delays, we couldn't continue. Now I'm unsure of my career progression & need guidance.

Dear Connections,

We are urgently looking to hire a SAP FICO-Lead to work out of our Bangalore office who will be supporting global SAP operations. This will be a hybrid model of work.

An ideal candidate must possess the following:
1.A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
2. 8+ years of work experience in a SAP FICO function
3. Advanced knowledge of GAAP, product costing, and profitability analysis
4. Completed at least two (2) full-cycle FICO implementations.

I still think of my ex. It’s been 9 months since our breakup. He cheated on me and although I walked away and never looked back, I still wonder how life is treating him. I know I deserve better. Sigh.
