Need a quick help
While structuring the HRA if we give max limit for eg., 20k and I have rent agreement of 7500. Will this be a problem or will I just get an exempt of 7500?

Everything depends on your rent agreement.
The claim submission will adjust your hra calculation while tax calculation.

So I can opt HRA for max limit rite? even though the agreement is for 7k

I think you did not get my point.
You can avail the HRA only according to your rent agreement limit. If you are getting higher HRA allowance every and you submit your 7500 rent agreement before 31st Jan as you claim submission, your HRA will be adjusted and you will be taxed accordingly. So your tax would definitely go up.

While claims declaration which you might have done earlier you can put any number to your HRA, though not advised.
When you submit your claim, your HRA will be recalculated and you will be taxed accordingly.

Thanks for the info

For hra with rent of 40,000 ...wat all proofs needed.... Rent agreement and rent slips?

40k each month or total of 12 months?

40K each month

I don't have rent agreement, Just I can submit rent receipts. will they consider?

For rent above INR 8333/- month, rent agreement, rent receipt and PAN of the landlord is required.
Rent agreement & receipts are mandatory for every rent slab.

When investing in stocks, how do you strategize where to put your money? For example, I like to put $2000 a month in the stock market. My problem is I buy 2 shares here, 3 shares there. And I’ve ended up owing a bit of everything. Ideally I want to build up to have 100 shares of a stock so I can start selling covered calls. But I feel like it’s going to take forever. Especially if I keep getting into new stocks.

Told my gf (26) that I don’t want to buy a house with her because it is more straightforward for both parties if we keep things separate until marriage. We have been dating 2 years and renting together for 1 year.
I (29) suggest she uses her money to buy property separately whilst I’m happy to continue living together, whether it’s at my or her place.
She adamantly refused and cried and says we are buying together and she doesn’t want her own place.
I was calm and reasonable. What do I do?

Mega Backdoor Roth IRA question/After-Tax contributions

Crosspost from a thread in the KPMG bowl discussing Mega Backdoor Roth IRA/After-Tax contributions. I wanted to ask a quick question for a “mistake” I may have made.

I forgot to change my contributions from after-tax to Roth + Traditional. A few paychecks went through as after-tax and hasn’t touched my $20,500 contribution limit for the year yet.

How will those funds be used/taxed? What are the implications here.
