Boycott W hotels - from the girl they tried to charge $1,010 for getting sick. Will never stay there again neither will my team, help us in the movement
W Times Square or Westin TS personally
Yeah but those were higher points value. Looking at the three above
I've stayed at all the hotels you've mentioned. Sheraton Times Square is the best value for the points. It also has a club lounge where you can get free water and drinks (take some when you go out). My favorite of your mix is actually the Element Times Square because every room has a kitchenette and wood floors (personal preference), and it always smells great. Depending on the season, the redemption can be as low as 12K points/night which is competitive with the Sheraton. If you just want a nice property, I recommend Westin Times Square only because the W is outrageously priced. Cross the Sheraton Tribeca off your list - it's super basic and far from most attractions.
Thanks a ton D2!
Ok will boycott the W, D3 👍
W Union Square is great. Parker Meridien was meh but they have an amazing burger spot tucked away in the lobby. Without more details, I'd be hesitant to jump on D3s boycott, but to each their own
W union square by far the best location in my opinion. All the surrounding neighborhoods at your fingertips. Meridian is at the base of Central Park with a great look and feel and a "speak easy" burger joint
11 Howard 🙌🏻
Westin TS is damn good
Helmsley is great too
I don't see Helmsley on SPG
Adding to the mix:
Element times square west
Le Parker Meridien
W Union Square
Thanks OP 👏🏻👏🏻 spread the word
D2- any thoughts about Hotel Americano? I read some pretty good reviews, and then some outrageously horrible ones. Made me really wonder what the case is.
W
W Union Square is great and in an incredible location. My parents visited me a few weeks ago and what's where I put them. However, as others have mentioned, the Sheraton Times Square is the best value. I can't comment on the rest as I haven't personally stayed there.
Ok so I have the following, still can't decide.
Sheraton Times Sq - 12k per night
Element Times Sq - 12k per night
W Union Square - 20k per night
I'm leaning toward Element bc of point value, if someone else can validate that it's good?
Also did Platinum get you anything special at Element, other than more points?
I would say it depends on your annual earn to burn ratio. Is that above or below 1?
Sorry OP, my eyes must have glazed over Hotel Americano because I haven't stayed there. To clarify, the Element doesn't have an impressive hotel entrance/lobby like the rest of your list, but its rooms and bathrooms are far superior to the Sheraton (old and dingy). I've stayed at the W Union Square and it's not that different from the W Times Square or any other typical W. I remember the front desk being extra douchy lol!
I'd opt for the one of the 12K options. I haven't stayed at either but I'm always FOR saving points.
