Did you really need all of it? Sorry if I sound ignorant

To piggyback - what would you do for 2022 if you'll try to get pregnant during the year, but may not have the baby until 2023?

like

Good to know

It probably depends on if you have other back up plans on what to use the money on if you end up not getting pregnant and not have any cost related to pregnancy

like

Not as much, normally I put $600 per year and it was enough for us so far. I guess I need to find out how much the pregnancy/labor would cost with insurance.

Yeah, my three c-sections only cost $250 each out of pocket so you need to figure out what your insurance covers. My coworker was on a different plan and paid almost $5000 out of pocket.

like

We’re they all planned? My planned one was only about $1800 but my first emergency one was ridiculous

I wouldn’t do more than a few hundred initially. If you don’t get pregnant you’ll lose it. And really, delivery is the most expensive part and you have 4-5 months to get preggo and deliver next calendar year. I’d wait to change to max out your FSA contribution after the baby is born.

like

Check the list of items that you can purchase with an FSA. Judge what you will need and how much by that list. Then if baby is late coming, you don’t lose your money.

Any recommendations for a graduation trip for my BIL the first week of June? He is 22 and has very, very limited domestic travel experience and no experience traveling internationally. His brother and I are significantly older and would like to take him and their mother on a 7-10 day trip as a graduation gift. We want to be sensitive to their lack of experience, so I think anything too culturally overwhelming or adventurous is off the table, but we wanted to find something exciting (cont)

Should I put off having a baby until 2022? My S/O and I have always talked about having a big family. I want to start on my mid 20s and hopefully finish having kids by my mid 30s (I want 3-4 kids). Should I wait until after COVID to start having kids? Life is unpredictable so who’s to say that after one pandemic there won’t be another. I’m hesitant to wait but scared now to start trying for a baby.

I am sincerely asking for advice, not criticism. I have been w/ my boyfriend for 2 years, & I love him dearly. I have a history of being in toxic relationships. My friends call me a chaos addict. I was also a victim of sexual, physical, verbal, & emotional abuse from a step parent I love my bf more than anything, & I do not want to break up, but I keep fantasizing about cheating on him (Cont. in comments)

Long story short - my nanny has many conservative values - mom shaming breastfeeding in public, gender specific roles, considering boys better than girls etc. it never bothered me before and I have learned to co exist with her however now my toddler is speaking and understanding more I am worried about him being influenced by her. Further she also has comments against my SO being too involved parent & calling out son as cutie, hugging toddler etc as he is a boy. Contd..

I found out today that my employer doesn’t offer any paid parental leave (maternity or paternity). This isn’t a major issue now, but my wife and I are planning on trying in a year or so from now. How many other employers don’t offer any paid leave at all? Coming from public accounting this seemed outrageous to me, but curious to see what other companies are like.

I think I’m falling for my mother in law. The feelings aren’t necessarily sexual in nature. They seem to be much deeper and emotional feelings—which I get would concern my wife more so than sexual feelings. It doesn’t help that everyone thinks my MIL finds me to be her “favorite” in addition to some other complicating nuances. Obviously, I won’t act on these feelings, but as the years go by, the closer we’re going to get since she’s around a lot and we talk quite often when we’re alone.

Baby is almost eight months old! He sleeps 11 hours at night but has 4-5 wakings these days(used to be just 1/2 before for a midnight feed). Have a feeling it might be because of a heavy diaper(because they usually start happening more during the early morning hours). Do you all do midnight diaper changes? Or no? We use the snug and dry but it gets pretty full by the morning!

Hi ladies! I would love your advice! I got engaged this weekend and have been receiving a lot of questions regarding the date, venue, etc. I want to take a few weeks to enjoy the engagement glow and be present with my fiancé, but I am concerned because my future mother in law is already very involved (her daughter was married 2 years ago & she planned the entire wedding). I want her input, but I also want to honor my mom because she wants to help too. What tasks did you assign your MIL to help?

Need advice on hating your sibling’s significant other. My sister is polyamorous and bisexual (not judging- just giving perspective) and I’ve never liked the people she dates- they’ve all cheated on her or been otherwise disrespectful and treated her poorly. She is 21, and is now dating a 39 year old man who lives in an off grid cabin. From what I’ve seen he is basically a 39 year child. No responsibilities, does whatever he wants. No future plans. I’m concerned but don’t want to push her away.

Anyone tried or have a Tonal? Thoughts? How are the class? Do you feel fitter after using it? How long are workouts? How often are you using it? Is it addictive and fun like peloton? We have a peloton, which we love, but aren't disciplined enough use it consistently. Need to get back into the fitness game now that the pandemic is over. Like the gym / classes, but the time saving aspect of at home workouts is great and better for us right now with baby. Might get this as gift for hubby.
