What are you wearing to work these days?
I’m back to the office 3-4 days a week but most meetings/interactions are with internal people, not clients. I have great suits and dresses from the before-times (some even still fit 🤣) but they seem too formal. Curious as to what people are wearing these days.
Why does every alum group I've been on suddenly insist doing a "zoom catch up"? And subsequently posting it on Instagram.
Help me restore my faith in humanity: what's the nicest thing you've seen/done this week?
Hi there, anyone here work at Williams Sonoma Marketing department ? Would love to connect for some insights. TY in advance .
Did I really?? I’m so quirky 🤪🤪 definitely didn’t steal this from that post that got shared 1M times.
I was in a client kickoff meeting for a sports bra related project. Our clients are women. Out of my team of 6, I was the only woman...a producer, not even creative. Already knew we have a diversity problem but this makes it even more obvious. Need to do better 🤦🏻♀️
Too sensitive to criticism
I like to think I’m a tough person but the second my coach says anything critical I’m immediately on the verge of tears. I’m sure this isn’t a women only issue, but any cop
Why is so scary 🙄
Does anyone have good sentence correction tips? I’m taking the GMAT in a week and SC is really keeping down my verbal score. Thanks!
Anyone flying Alaska before EOY and need a GGU?
Sales enablement is loosely defined as the process in which the marketing team provides the sales team with "marketing resources" that helps them sell more effectively.
I say that good sales enablement is about marketing becoming a strategic partner that aligns with sales to create the most impact at each step of the buyer’s journey.
Listen to this short video as I explain what good sales enablement looks like.
What are everyone's thoughts on going for an MBA or masters? Is it worth the time and money? If so, how did you make it happen/where did you go??
Might be niche but I want to short the Japanese economy in the long term. I’m seeing a few leveraged inverse ETFs for the Nikkei and yen, but not much more. I dont want to hold leveraged ETFs for a long time. What other options do I have as a normal retail investor (ie. No access to foreign or private markets)?
I love what I do. But I just want Administration to have our backs. Last semester I had 4-5 unruly students I begged and pleaded for them to get them out of my class. They did nothing for the whole semester. I told the school board I refuse to teach at that school with that administration there. I don't trust them and I have no faith in them Administration is supposed to have our backs.

Anyone in ny market do per diem work if so what type of work and what do you charge and what practice level are you at?
Best advice for giving notice in the pandemic? I’m quitting tomorrow! It’ll be via phone because we are not back in the office. I want to say “you can take this job and shove it”! Obviously I’m going to show some restraint but any suggestions on tips for not burning bridges and gracefully quitting in a pandemic? I’m giving them 2 weeks’ notice and I have a list of the attorneys I intend to call so they hear it directly from me. Tips and suggestions welcome!
I haven’t left my apartment in a week, billed .5 of an hour on Friday because we have reviews on Tuesday and I’ve been frantic about preparing for that, and screwed up some really stupid things out of overwork and stress and thus went on a crying jag last night. All that said, I adopted a cat in Oct and being on my own I genuinely don’t know how I would have gotten to this point without her (she’s currently curled up on my chest, purring like a motor). Any pet stories/photos are very welcomed :)
Ok, ladies…How do negotiate a sign on bonus? Trying to push my imposter syndrome out the door and be more assertive in my career.
How do you deal with conflicts with your (romantic) partners? I feel that any time I want to address something that bothers me, I am quickly accused of “lawyering” at home. I want to work toward actual resolution but get frustrated when my job is used against me.
Does anyone here feel like you were conditioned to believe that if you aren't stressed out and exhausted then you aren't being a good lawyer? Now I'm at the point where even when I dont need to be stressed and lacking sleep, I think I subconsciously procrastinate to create that stress because I've become accustomed to working under pressure. It doesn't feel sustainable but I feel like I'm stuck in this stress cycle, and without the stress I feel like I'm not being a good lawyer.
I don't get the "I Don't Care Attitude" associates have. . . I quit and still care. I am working with a more senior attorney on a deal with an I don't care attitude who isn't billing crazy hours or anything (far from it) and he is driving me nuts because he isn't keeping self set deadlines, etc. I have many things to complete my last few days, reassignment books, etc. and other work and was trying to help him out. I understand not having sufficient hours is stressful, etc. but gosh.
Someone posted about a month ago wanting to set up some sort of brunch or other meet up (I’m in DC). Just wondering if that’s happening or if people were still interested?
How much do you spend every month on self-care (I.e. hairdresser, nails, waxing, tanning)?
Currently trying to come up with a budget.
I’m a senior associate. I have a couple white male junior associates who constantly push me to do their stuff and they are very condescending toward me. I’m asian and a foreigner. I wonder if white guys do this to white senior female associates or I’m getting a racial discount here?
Any female attorneys consistently have issues with female support staff (who are older than you are) not following your directions? How do you strike a balance between being firm about your instructions while keeping open communications and allowing for mistakes and suggestions? I try to be very collaborative and accommodating but I am tired of “this is how I’m used to doing it” and reluctance to change. I do not want to be ambiguous but I also do not want to be a dictator.
I recently left a job I liked to pursue another opportunity that I thought would bring me more career growth. I got a LinkedIn notification for my old job and saw the pay range was much higher than they were paying me. I know it’s moot now but I can’t help this feeding into my buyers remorse a little bit. Any tips on moving past the second guessing?
Has anyone had the earlobe repair procedure? Mine is scheduled for tomorrow. Wondering what to expect for recovery.
Random, but is anyone else getting deluged by recruiter emails for NYC openings who is not in that market/barred in NY? I’m not 100% disinterested, but my spidey senses are twinging because all the firms they’re describing sound too good to be true (1800 hrs/year and on Cravath scale??). I responded to one from my private email and got no response (I looked her up beforehand and she’s a real person and was careful to type in her listed email address without hitting reply or clicking any links).
Getting frustrated re likely not meeting the billable hour requirement this year. I have asked around for work, but have limited success. Any advice?
What would you wear for a client meeting in the office? Big law firm but EC/VC so it’s generally more casual and client is a tech company.
Real talk - does anyone regret getting a bigger engagement stone? I’m nervous it’s going to look insane but it’s out of my hands now. 😬
Pregnant litigators, how are you handling returning to court? What are you/your firms doing to protect you? I have eviction court on 6/2. Client doesn't have video hearing capability.
