Got an interview with Amazon within their Advertising department. I hear working for Amazon can be great if you get into the right department. Anyone have insights to their advertising department? Good or bad? Also, would love some interview tips if you have them! (It’s for an Executive Assistant position) thank you!
Hello, what is working in retail banking like at JPMorgan Chase ? Specially the branch manager role. I’m looking in the Columbus area. How is pay, culture, benefits, sales environment, meetings, etc. How easy is it to transition from retail banking to corporate. I hear the Polaris campus has great opportunities, I was thinking about getting my foot in the door through retail then transferring to corporate ?

Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

Meta technical solutions consultant interview prep - can someone let me know if they have gone through the technical rounds for Technical Solutions Consultant role? Can you share what to prepare for since it’s not a data science type of role so most likely not hard level MySQL questions. Any specific types of queries that I should learn? Thanks!

Go for the money. There’s a reason that company has more money to offer you - they make more money and have a better reputation, which will lead to better future opportunities.
What do opportunities for growth look like for both companies? If opps are solid, go with the jr role and growth within the company
Not sure about growth but company 1 is much larger than company 2 in terms of revenue etc
Honestly I don’t think any future employer will care about a lower title. Most count by years in the industry so a lower title won’t keep you from getting the next level if you look to leave. So then this comes down to whether you care about the remote vs hybrid and the money.
For me I’d take the first since if you’re a senior you could probably get a promo within a year and I don’t mind hybrid.
If WLB is better at company 1, go there. With company 2, yes you’re remote, but you still can feel pressure to reply to emails on weekends when you’re remote. Only go for the more junior role if you’re genuinely convinced you’ll enjoy the work itself better.
I would go for the money in this case for sure. Especially it it’s a bigger company, hopefully more secure employment and less likely to take advantage? (Hopefully). Culture also has a big effect but a lower level might give you some more upwards mobility as well, and if the pays already better there isn’t really a downside. Lower pay but higher title means it will Probobly be a lot more difficult to move up. Just my train of though though. Also depends if you really enjoy remote work or not, I’m the weird guy who likes being in an office sometimes but it’s all preference!
Thanks for all the advice. I will go with company 1. If title is not an issue for future roles, I don't mind hybrid that much.
Yup, I don’t see that being an issue based off your explanation. Coming in as Junior with that type of salary is great because you have room to grow and make way more.
What does hybrid entail, do you have a preference. Does it impact w/l balance. Does that add a significant commuting cost.
Hybrid is 2 days a week to office and it's 30 min commute for me. Not much cost. Wlb is better at company 1 but I preferred remote.
Everyone made valid points. Company 1 is the right answer.
Which leadership team is stronger - meaning they work well together so that optimal results are achieved. Do they know how to scale profit vs just burnrate. Which company has the better board?
How are you supposed to know these details before actually starting a job? The OP is asking for advice based on the information they provided.
