Consult with a lawyer. This is tricky.
Theyre not supervising their kid and so she plays with something that's not hers and gets hurt?
Parent brings a kid to your house, isn't watching their kid as they stick their finger in your electric socket - who's at fault? This isn't even in your house...
Or better yet, you leave your car unlocked some unsupervised kid gets in and drives it into a tree... who's at fault?
Not a lawyer by any means but that's definitely not on you.
Talk to a lawyer, if you offer to help pay it will come off as you are admitting some fault on your end
Ethically liable but know if they sued us weād probably be held legally liable due to āattractive nuisanceā statues in child trespasser laws. Just donāt want to claim fault by offering but also donāt want to be an ass by not offering.
