Found out I'm on the VP track at work but they want me to come up with "new product offerings" and longterm business opportunities. I work at a political firm that already does social, web, branding, ads, and video. I'm kind of at a loss for what Design can still offer. We are limited by where we can even talk about our candidates. Any out of the box ideas would be appreciated.

How important is it to figure out your “why” when applying? I see a lot of current BAs who have really strong about sections, and one common thread is folks have a clearly defined personal purpose.

I’ll never forget when my stepdad was on his death bed, in a coma and my manager asked if I could still work since they had so much going on. I remember feeling guilty that I couldn’t get myself to work and feeling guilty after the fact for being so distracted. It’s been a year since he passed, I miss him so much and I’m convinced that lady was the worst person I’ve ever met. This among other things 🤮

Looking to pivot my career into Graphic + Web Design! I created a Learning Roadmap to plan out the things I need to teach myself in order to master the basics & start taking on clients.

1. Learn fundamentals of Graphic Design & Design Theory (I have a couple books I’m reading & courses I will take)
2. Learn Figma bc it is an advanced design tool/software (I only know Canva)
3. Learn Webflow as it is the premier web-designing platform (I only know Wix)

What to call myself? Small In-house design group for a larger corp, 15-16 years in various roles. I have been short-listed among 2 other applicants for a great UX/UI role.
The role is very UI focused, am a jr but the role is Mid weight, yet I still got through! Yay
But now I got an email from the interviewer asking for live links of apps and websites that are similar to theirs that I have designed before.. I am stuck... should I decline the interview? I don't have much links to send. And the ones I did were confidential and the ones that are not , are already on my website what should I do?

Indesign experts! HELP!
I'm trying to translate an indesign document from En to FR.
I have been provided the French translation word file.
When i try to paste the FR COPY on EN. The foot notes disappear and the superscript beside that french word also disappears when paste it from word.

Is there a way to easily copy paste text first and then edit footnote text (maybe link them later)

What are best practices to translate Indesign files?
