I am currently in a “data-centric” role, as in I do a lot of SQL writing, unwinding python/php/java code to understand how systems work, and proposing solutions to either automate processes or eliminate redundancies.
I am wanting to get into cloud architecture, is this too much of a stretch given I don’t have hands on coding experience? I am AWS SAA certified but still feeling like that’s not enough
I don't think everyone is passionate about what they do. It's hard to be passionate about something you have to do every day in order to get paid. My advice is just do the bare minimum and focus on doing something you really like before, after work and on the weekends. Making good friends at work also helps with the anxiety of having to go into work every day!

Do you enjoy it? I am not passionate about my job (or at least not all aspects of it) I do enjoy the work but I’m working to live now not living to work.
It’s important that a career meets your needs since you end up doing it for a long time. Scientific paths call for some passion because the pay isn’t the best. It’s far from the worst but employers can manipulate your passion to pay you less.
If you enjoy it stick with it, it’s a very diverse field out there.

I think passion at your job is kind of rare?
Don't get me wrong, I love my job. I enjoy most days. Some days I'm even passionate about it. But if something better came along with better pay and better work/life balance, I would seriously think about it.
I think the best we all can aim for is we like, maybe even love, our jobs more often than we hate them.
I'm not that passionate either 😂 but at least I don't hate it! That's a win in my book.
