I’m afraid this is probably only a question you can answer. You are in what sounds like a pretty pure partnership, and you probably know the other partners very well. I also imagine this has been discussed, or should have been discussed, when you became a partner in a partnership. If you were simply an employee it’s a different thing. But you are not.

This is why partnership agreements should be in writing - and include language regarding retirement, leaving, incapacity, and incompetency as well as business succession planning. That doesn’t help now, but it is something you should ask for next time.
