There are a lot of reasons people do this. They’re mad, they’re jealous, they want you do stay and are figuring out if it’s worth it to give you a counter offer, they want to learn how to improve the working environment, they are hoping you’ll be candid about another problem or employee, they are nosy.
You don’t have to explain anything if you don’t want to.
The other manager is just a sore loser. I had a boss try every trick in the book to make me feel guilty about leaving: said he thought our relationship was more than this, he was betrayed, he thought this would hurt my career and he just wanted what was best for me, his company could give me what any other company would, he disagreed that I wasn’t working (I had beaten a new Pokémon game and been interviewing for a month before leaving and worked 1-5 hrs per week). All just words, I left anyways. Don’t take it to heart

Yeah there can be genuine hurt when a good employee leaves. Some people take it personally and he may be looking for reasons for your departure other than “I must have been a crappy manager” or “how did I not see this coming”.
Not for you to be concerned about. The manager now has to worry about backfilling you.

Sue you for what?

They’re probably upset you’re leaving. Shouldn’t have made you feel uncomfortable but if you haven’t done anything wrong, 🤷🏻♀️

What kind of info was he trying to pry out of you?
If he was vital in recruiting you, he may have been disappointed you were leaving and trying to figure out why you are going and what they could do to keep you.

He probably just wants to know what happened because he was invested in you and hoping his team doesn’t go along with you
