I am on OPT, with 2 years left. I work for Company A right now, and I am happy with them. Company B applied for my H1b this year and I was selected. They are processing the H1b, but I don’t wanna work there. Can I take the approved H1b to Company A and continue there, without ever working for Company B? Can I work for Company B once the H1b is approved and not got to Company A at all?
Anyone going through H1B transfer recently experienced delays at the receipt notice step? Lawyers said they submitted to USCIS 5 days ago, but still haven’t received receipt notice, so still no case number. Is this normal?
In order to pass provisions of next week's immigration bill please call your state's senators and ask them to supports bill clauses on DALCA And greeen card backlog
This October 1st I turned into H1b from f1(COS). Two days ago court ruled out trump executive order(ban on new H1b stampings till dec,2020). 1)Am I good to go for stamping now? . 2)If yes ...Can I go to canada/mexico for new H1b stamping instead of home country(india)?
Is it difficult to buy a house in the US on H1b visa? Is there any important information I need to know?
Currently in a rotational program at EY (first year out of undergrad). Got placed on a long term risk project and wondering if it’s worth it staying long term. Currently interviewing for the strategy team at a legacy payments company (think visa or Mastercard) and wondering if it’ll stifle growth doing internal consulting. Would definitely appreciate any insights on this as I’m not too sure who who talk to and ask. Thanks!
Picking a country to live and work in: my spouse is a Mexican citizen (with US green card) who works in Mexico City, and I'm a US citizen. We want to live together, but my spouse has great career opportunities in tech in MC, and finding a job in the US has been hard. I could likely get a job in MC, but I don't speak Spanish and my income would be much lower. How should we handle the decision of who moves where? We are both looking for tech jobs in the bay area, but we haven't had much success.
Has anyone heard about new labor instructions which are causing green card delays because entire recruitment process needs to be redone?
McKinsey & Company - are you allowed to start work with your H1B transfer receipt notice, or do they ask you to wait for an approval?McKinsey & Company
My I-140 and I-485 are finally filed today 🐠s!!! Just wanna celebrate this milestone before hopefully getting that green card sooner than later... 🤞🏼
Can anyone refer me in visa?
I am 10 days into my H1B grace period with no leads. Are there any suggestions for next steps?
For those on Conditional Green Card: My lawyers have filed for the removal of conditions (I-751) about 3 weeks ago but I haven’t received the application receipt yet which automatically extends my green card’s validity for 18 months. My current green card expires in 2 weeks. If I don’t receive the receipt by then, do I need to be worried or as long as the I-751 was filed before my card expires I’m okay?
MBB folks on H1-B who recently switched to FAANG - did you run into any issues with visa transfer? My transfer has been filed and I’m a bit nervous about USCIS’ perception of consultants and the current sentiment around H1-B visas.
Any dangers of quitting on H1B approval email/online status and not the physical notice? Manager pushing to put my 2 weeks in but lawyers are saying that sometimes online approval maybe incorrect
Any perspective on m&a with regards to the current situation? Is M&A going to be the most hit? What are people and especially people on Visa doing as backup plans?
Once I get my H1B issued, how soon can I apply for a greencard and how long does the process take from application to receipt of the greencard? For reference, I’m born Canadian (I think birth country plays a factor in this?) and is it better to apply through my employer or apply on my own?
I was on opt from July 2020 to July 2021. I got my h1b approved in 2020 and chose to activate it via the consular processing method. I left the US in Jul 2021 and will finally visit the embassy for stamping tomorrow. If successful, does it mean that I could get another company to apply for a h1b transfer right away? Or do I have to enter the US before the h1b transfer process can start? Thanks!
Anyone went through a interview for Sr. Delivery manager for Mulesoft recently. Looking for tips on questions and such.

What to do when your counselor is also your stream lead on the project, and he wouldn’t let you roll off because you’re top performer. I’m over one year in on this multi year implementation project
Going to be starting a new job soon (in consulting) after a break when I adopted a dog. She is still learning and I don’t trust her to stay quite through all my meetings. Do you think this is going to be an issue? How can I best manage the situation while we’re WFH?
Am interviewing at small to midsize accounting firms. I have passed my first trimester and am receiving positive responses from my interviewers. At what stage, if any, do I inform potential employers of my pregnancy?
Working in Tokyo and the only American/consultant. Unlimited expense account. Consulting lottery?

Starting a project in Secaucus, NJ soon. Tips?
Joining Strategy&/PwC soon but have a pre planned vacation. Recruiter had mentioned that it shouldn't be a problem and we can talk as we get closer to joining date to finalize. Has anyone been in the situation before and what do you recommend I do? I'm worried that once onboarded, I won't get my vacation approved
Data/Cybersecurity attorneys? What does your day-to-day look like? Any comparison to litigation? I’m seeing a lot of job openings for these roles.
My (white) manager consistently gives me feedback that I’m “very literal” when doing assignments. She asks for something, I do what her directions say, and she tells me “oh you took that very literally. You’re very literal.” Obviously consulting is subjective and we’ve all had managers give vague directions leading to multiple iterations of work, but at what point do I push back? I’ve also noticed her say this about several black colleagues including clients and the senior mgr on the project.
Does anyone here work at Cohn Reznick? How is the culture? How is the promotion track? I’ve been through 2 busy seasons as a senior so far. How likely is it I would make manager after 1 year coming from a different firm?
I'm 22 and just starting out my career, I've done good at saving my money and I have investments, but my emergency fund (3 mo living expenses) in just in my savings account from when I was a child. I am wanting to move my emergency fund into a high yield savings account. What are the ones that people recommend? Aspiration is really the only one that I have heard real feedback on.
I accepted an offer at Deloitte and start in three weeks. I am also in processes at another Big 4 and MBB. If I get substantial better offers from them, would it be crazy to leave D after a couple months? Start dates for other potential offers are Jan 3.
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
2021 Headwinds and Tailwinds. What are the thoughts as the fiscal year closes out? I'm seeing 2021 as likely more punishing given the lack of visibility and the fact we may have diminished economic activity for 2 to 3 quarters. I have little visibility into how comp will be impacted but can only imagine lots of early retirement zoom parties. Thoughts?
