I got an internship-unpaid-which I thought would be a good way to learn. But I found myself working just with the owner and not getting any guidance from someone on my field, because he doesn’t have any marketing or PR managers, it’s just him. I feel that he hired me to work for free and come up with a plan without any other guidance that what he knows about the industry and the objectives he wants. Is that how it works? Am I complaining for nothing?
Anyone willing to refer me to google for an internship please? I am a computer/information science major at Cornell with a focus in human interaction and UX design and user experience with a business communication minor. I have internship experience in user research and design and application design.
I'm managing an intern for the first time and not sure of the best approach to train them on media 101 without going into information overload. Anyone have any tips for on boarding interns?
Helping my intern with their book and unsure: If the idea/brief wasn’t the intern’s but said intern jumped in to help with post-production, is that piece something they can put in their book or no?

Is Deloitte Audit (DC area) a good place to start my career? I am an Intern at GT now, but want to try big four.
I keep being told what I have to do, but no one will show me how to do it. Be very careful how you word IEP’s without being given. The wording. I have been here 2 years as an intern. Now, with 3 weeks to go, I find out the name of the support person? I was never given training and my intern support person never met with me. Not even once! I’m not being hired back because I don’t know how to do what I was never trained on.
Does anyone have insight into this? Which group is the first to have their offers rescinded in a recession if it has to come to it? Internship programs or new hire graduate programs?
How do you approach a legal intern who isn’t doing their best on the assignments you give them? To clarify, the issues I have aren’t with mistaken legal analysis/legal writing (they are still learning and I’d never be upset at them for that- I don’t even know everything lol) but on tasks that just require them to compare sets of records for similarities/discrepancies or check the status of discovery document production from OC, etc. Cont’d in comments —
Thoughts on going with Fidelity to get my licenses (63,7) while still a junior in school. I have an offer from Goldman for an internship next summer but I’m leaning towards fidelity because they will pay for my school and I can start making money while still in school. Any advice would be appreciated.
Any product managers here? I'm currently pursuing master's in engineering management from Northeastern University. I have 2 years of work exp as a consultant, have managed a team of 5 and built a couple of products! I'm looking for an internship in Product management. Can someone refer? Thank you!
Any advice for a strategist entering an internship with Droga, Anomaly, W+K, 72, etc, entering the new year? Thanks
How soon is too soon to be preparing for a lateral move? I did my 1L summer internship in a niche area of securities law, loved it, took courses on it. I decided I wanted to explore securities law a little more broadly and not to pigeonhole myself. The firm I’m at is great—doing sec lit—but has zero work in that niche area that I liked. I’m afraid that I am passing on a passion, and I don’t want to get too “old” for a firm to take me on if I have zero experience in a specialty area. Advice? Thx
I started a new gig today and the other AD keeps talking to me like I’m his intern... I look pretty young so maybe it’s a genuine mistake but I don’t know how to explain that I’m his counterpart?
What’s better - Credit risk (institutional) at Citi or credit risk (reserves and discount window) at the Federal Reserve in terms of longer term prospects? Current intern at the fed and got an interview through immediate manager. Got an interview at citi through networking. Any guidance is appreciated. Thank you
Hey, I have applied to a job at EY for Risk assurance. My academics are pretty good and I'm pursuing ACCA with BCom, with a year of internship experience as well. I have tried to apply but I think a referral would really help. Please dm me for referrals. Would be happy to speak on linkedin as well and send my job ID as well.
Any NYC agencies hiring AAEs? Thought my post grad internship would lead to something but budget cuts took me back to the drawing board—oh yeah and I already signed the lease. Appreciate all leads!
Thoughts on using an ongoing masters degree to try a tech internship after 2 years of consulting?
I am almost 2 years into my H1B. They haven’t started my I140 but when I joined told me that I would be eligible in a year of which I am coming up on in this Oct. I got a new offer today but they told me that they would apply I140 after a year from when I join. The pros of the new one is TC more than 18k with sign-on of 15k (not sure clauses for this) and better wrk-life bal). My question is, how long into H1B is it advisable to have an I140 applied for. Would 3-4 years into my H1B be too late?
Would getting only "partially at next level" in whole leadership hold up your promotion to manager?
Help a kid pick a school: Madison (Wisconsin) or Washington U (St. Louis) for finance jobs post undergrad?
I currently have a “retainer” agreement set up with a client for a certain number of deliverables over the course of a month and a half. They told me it would not be big lift, so we agreed on “half day” rates. Obviously, once the work got started it became more than a half day. Now they are trying to add more deliverables and think it should be included in our scope. I think I should charge them for the extra deliverables. What do you think?
Best resources for practicing for life science case interviews? Particularly market sizing but all resources appreciated!
How is PwC's expense policy? Breakfast/lunch/dinner allowances? Phone allowance? Hotel options?
I don't know what the guys on my project eat for lunch, but they need to stop immediately. It smells like a dead body in the men's room every afternoon. I literally have to hold my breath peeing
I am starting to be really considered with my stomach bloating. It’s like I am pregnant. I started back on pills due to ovarian cysts (not diagnosed with pcos) and I’ve gained weight but it’s not terrible. However, my stomach is ridiculously bloated especially two weeks prior to my period! What do I do?!
My last day with Deloitte was a week ago - I signed several authorization forms allowing them to withhold from my final paycheck the 1/2 of my sign-on bonus I owe back for leaving in 1.5 years, sans some FICA taxes. Today, I received a barely coherent email saying, “due to some glitch, the loan amount wasn’t adjusted from pay-stub”... and asking me to wire transfer the amount to them. It’s to the point that if it wasn’t on the same thread as the original email, I would assume it’s a scam. Wtf?
Assuming you are smart enough to do both (I know big assumption), are you better off being a SWE/data scientist at FAANG or equivalent level at MBB (based on YOE) from a compensation:WLB ratio?
Interested to hear what happened with the promised comp increase in PwC DDV. Did they actually follow through this time?
Does anyone know someone that lives the consultant travel life, out of a van? I’d love to be able to bike and ski non-stop on the weekends
