What is the range for a senior consultant in Advisory (FRA)? Currently at 100k (another big 4) in the dc area so what kind of bump should i expect
Anyone else with big 4 experience looking to find a rewarding career path with an undergrad degree in accounting? What career options are out there without having to go back to school?
I’m an incoming AC1 at Bain and I have spent the summer studying a bit for the GMAT since we had a stipend. I took it with no practice and received a 640. After studying on an off for a couple of months I received a 690. I’m likely going to cancel the score since I realize it isn’t enough for M7. To provide some more insight on my profile. I graduated undergrad from UofM BBA Magna Cum Laude, have interned in Big 4 consulting, IB, and VC, and I’m an Asian-American. What should I do?
When you explain to your non-accounting friends what the Big 4 is and they say, "oh sounds like the Ivy League for accounting firms" >>>>
Curious to know what associate/consultant level compensation is in MBB or Big 4 in 2 locations: Tokyo vs Singapore
S1 in B4 deal advisory (FDD). any insight on how I might be able to transition to one of the other shops like A&M?
I m looking for change in Incident/Change Management (Service Management) / PMO profile.. I have around 7 Yoe and current CTC is around 9lpa..if anyone can refer in big 4 or good IT company.
Would anyone be willing to chat who made the jump from big 4 —> tech —> MBB? I did not have a great experience in tech and looking to pivot back into consulting. Went to a non-target undergrad but 10 YOE at good firms.
To people who have moved from big 4 to mid size, have you found it to be easier dealing with smaller clients? Are the hours/pay better?
Am I making a mistake declining offers for Infrastructure Automation/SRE Ops roles in product companies and going for Backend development roles in mid-size service based/Big 4 companies?
MD/ED at B4 M&A Tax have been approach by a recruiter from another B4 about talking with them about being a direct entry partner. How does one prepare a CV for this type of move?
Anyone have experience moving from a mid-tier firm to B4? What big differences have you found in work load and stress level if any? Is the switch really worth it. Currently A2 and on track to S1.
here's an ego boost for all the times KPMG has been called the stepchild of the B4: http://beta.fortune.com/best-companies/list
If I have an offer from a competing B4 dated 6months ahead, do I need to notify when I accept/sign or that 6months later?
So, do B4 typically ghost candidates they are not interested in or do they generally let them know they weren’t selected?
Started as a baby legal assistant about ten years ago at a transactional firm - now the majority (seven years) of my experience is in litigation. I am wanting to move more toward transactional or in-house now. Am I basically starting completely over? I am well respected and sought-out in litigation, but I'm unsure of how to market myself in the direction I want to go with as much confidence. Has anyone successfully made this move?
I feel really fatigued and weak if I don’t eat for a few hours. Outside of just planning my meals better, do you think this could be an underlying health issue?
Plan on moving to Dallas Texas next year. Currently with Deloitte MTS team and will be a senior at that time. Im wondering how the culture of the office is there? Also, how is the culture of the other firms. Im not opposed to moving firms. Just finished working three 80 hour weeks, so that would be a big plus to find a team where that is not expected on a regular basis!
Looking for some MBA advice. Went to Indiana U and had mediocre GPA due to mental health struggles. Got medicated and saw a therapist and got a 4.0 my last semester. But still ended with 3.2 gpa. I am a good standardized test taker and am confident I can do well on GRE/GMAT. Given my poor undergrad GPA, am I a non-starter for an M7 MBA? Looking to improve myself as an applicant over the next year or so by seeking out leadership opps within and outside the firm. Any advice is appreciated!
Any stats on how many people get past 1st phone screening case interview with McK? Also if it’s phone does it mean no charts?
Need to move to the burbs w/fiancee, but where? Staying in BK is not an option, though we will eventually work in the city 1-2 days/week (someday?). Won't do long island, need a 2 car garage w/space to work on cars and also space for a woodshop whether it's in basement or elsewhere. Planning on having kids and because we'll work from home a lot still need office space. I grew up in burbs and it wasn't so bad because I lived walking distance to train station into the city & nice downtown. 800k!
Is 1.68 for a townhouse is expensive for house hold income ~600k? we can do 20% down. I am just nervous as we are in the hook for $7.5k mortgage every month including property tax, hoa and insurance. Just can’t seem to decide or let go!
I want to start 2018 off on a good mental note. Looking for a good therapist(s) office in downtown Chicago. Urban Balance is booked and/or doesn’t take my insurance. Any recommendations?
Dear Women in the Law, Does anyone else find it absolutely *infuriating* when a colleague tells you that your preference to work from home or from the office "will probably change when you have...
Where are folks mostly exiting to? I was hired as an experienced manager and I have been thinking about moving back to the industry. It’s been really hard adjusting to the Covid schedule with family and kids. I am looking for a change but also scared to start the process of looking and interviewing. Just venting folks! 😔
How do you repeatedly turn down work for one partner or effectively avoid working with a particular person within your firm? Assuming hours are met and your standing is strong otherwise. One partner at my firm is destroying my mental health and knows few boundaries. I don't want to actively transition from our ongoing matters but sure as hell don't want to take on anything new... How best to do this without burning bridges?
Asalamualaikum everyone, hope everyone had a great thanksgiving holiday and some Black Friday shopping with family and friends? This is my first time in this bowl and I’m liking what I see so far.
Anyone give out office swag like pens, notebooks, etc. every time a client or propsect comes in? What are some small branding/marketing you guys do?
Airlines keep making me check my carry-on. I definitely saw space on today's flight though. Any tips? I don't want to have to wait for baggage claim
How does experienced hiring (generally) work in consulting? Are there cycles similar to campus recruiting or is it year-round? Got laid off a few weeks back and the job hunt has been frustrating
Did kick counting drive anyone else crazy?? 30 weeks and just had to eat sugar, drink a cold drink , and do jumping jacks in an attempt to get some kicks. This is going to drive me crazy but not sure if I should be concerned if baby is having a lazy day
Posted yesterday about getting into a wreck. My insurance has determined that I was not at fault. So the other insurance will likely pay. Do I ask them to reimburse me for the cars diminished value ??
What is a competitive compensation according to the market after 3 years of consulting experience out of undergrad? Glassdoor suggests $92K as a market average. I am in tech consulting mostly working on the vendor selection, system and processes assessments, and ERP implementation within FS. I know that comp for pwc A3-SA1 tier 2 geo is 86-95. What about other firms?
