Would go with your preference on wrist between the Tudor and Omega. Dive watches make great first luxury watches because they are so durable and versatile, can truly be work 24/7 for many years
I’d say the blue dial Omega Seamaster is probably the most versatile and functional of the bunch. I have two friends who recently bought that exact watch and it’s definitely a winner. It looks amazing with jeans, it’s dressy enough to wear with a suit, and it’s functional with the date (as compared to the BB58). If you buy from an AD it’ll also have a five year warranty (20% off should be possible) and likely won’t need a service for over a decade. Since it’s a dive watch you can also basically where it anywhere. Finally, it has the push-button adjustable bracelet, so it’s easy to get a perfect fit.
Finally finally, if you get the blue or chrome dial, you’ll definitely differentiate yourself from the Submariner crowd.
Definitely requires some haggling, and the boutiques might not budge. Contact Timeless Luxury Watches and you should be able to get a discount, and free shipping with no sales tax if you’re in a state other than TX.
Try them all on and go by comfort. They’re all amazing pieces but they wear very different on the wrist.
If you’re looking long term I’d go diver or steal sports watch
BB58
Omega!!
Why isn’t the speed master on this list? Great value and timeless classic
Manual wind, and the Hesalite (which is def the way to go), doesn’t really hold up to the abuse of travel. Now granted, it would ultimately be fine and it’s an awesome watch (I had one for about a year), but the Seamaster is just so easy to own.
Also really like the JLC Master Control date.... I cant make up my mind!! I need more money... ugh
I’d go the omega for your first watch - and it’s an absolute classic
