Need help with trying to find a recruiter in the greater Philadelphia region. I’m a 7th year in medmal defense looking to go in house. Are there recruiters that cover in house counsel positions that I might be qualified for or is it strictly applications and word of mouth? If there are recruiters covering this, does anyone know a good place to start? Thank you in advance.

In house doesn't really want to pay recruiters. You'll have to review job postings and apply yourself for the best shot

Anyone else having WFH fatigue? I had been traveling weekly for business the last 20+ years, but the last 3 months at home has been personally challenging. I love my wife and 3 boys — but I need some “alone time” which I used to have when traveling. Sometimes I get in my car and go for a drive but it’s not enough. Seems like this WFH is the new working model for the future. Anyone else feel this way?

I’ve been in house my entire career (6 years) and I am thinking about transferring to big law. I feel the experience would sharpen key skills and compensation wise would work out better. Has anyone made this transition before? Is it too late?

I’m the only associate (mid-level) in a niche transactional group. My team is slammed. My paralegal is on leave. My partners keep delegating work to me but then I have no one to delegate anything to. Nearly everything for 2 big deals is on my list. I’m so stressed that I feel like I can’t breathe most days. I need help but there isn’t any available. I’m starting to feel like quitting is my only option. Any recommendations?

Plaintiffs counsel took my clients deposition today. He mentioned that he would likely be ordering the transcripts and I suggested we split the cost of them (in front of court reporter). He got pretty defensive and said absolutely not, it’s unfair to the court reporter, and that it is frowned upon in the industry to do that. Each party orders (and pays for) their own copy. I’m in my 2nd year of practice, never heard such a thing. I’ve actually split the cost before! Curious for insight on this…

My firm has a collections budget (80% of your billable rate x 1850 hours) and an hourly budget that must be met in order to be eligible for a bonus. The firm cares very little about originations and will reward someone for making their collections over someone who brings in new work. I missed my collection budget due to some odd timing with a client, but originated more than all my peers so no bonus for me. I’ve been at this same mid level firm for 9 years and it’s all I know.
