For birth certificate, You can get it done by a family member in India and track it online. I am from UP and got it done by my sister who lives In the same city I was born in. And once your birth is registered you can download it directly from the site. For name corrections you will have to get some notarized documents from a lawyer.

It’s all available online https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/India.html

What are my options? Thanks in advance

They will accept your birth certificate. My birth certificate only had my first and last name (middle name missing) and father last name and initials but was ok by them. Not sure what D1 is referring to, you should already have a birth certificate if born after 1970.

Not necessarily! Mine wasn’t registered. I gave an affidavit and a certified letter from the relevant ministry stating that my birth wasn’t registered.

like

You need three affidavits - one yours plus two people who can confirm your birth. That plus your existing birth certificate is more than enough. Templates for affidavits are available online

At what stage these documents are required? After PERM?

While filing I485.

You should also provide support evidence (school certificates with dob, name, parents name, pan card with a parent’s name, college certificates, basically anything that mentions your dob, name, and one or both parents names).

Advice/experiences please. About 5 weeks pregnant and feel like total trash... basically like I have a flu (but 99% sure I don’t, it’s just the pregnancy). Could I or should I try to take some sick days? It feels like that should be an option (esp now with covid and unlimited sick days) but I feel like I never hear of anyone doing this. I also don’t want to tell my work what the “sickness” is. I just finished a project so no one is relying on me right this second. What would you do?
