The federal stance is shifting regarding the reopening...”He [President Trump] demanded that all of the nation’s schools reopen for the fall semester — until, suddenly, he allowed for some wiggle room.” The Washington Post https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trumps-week-of-retreat-the-president-reverses-course-as-the-coronavirus-surges-out-of-control/2020/07/24/bf680c2c-cdc2-11ea-91f1-28aca4d833a0_story.html
Has anyone here had a breakthrough Covid case who also received the Moderna vaccine? Anecdotally - went to a small wedding last weekend and a TON of the guests are testing positive for Covid now. Everyone at my table has symptoms or a positive test at this point - except me. I had a negative test and got moderna. They all received Pfizer. Other guests at different tables are seeing the same thing, including married couples with different vaccinations.
Anyone can recommend a great workout plan/program that‘s doable in limited space (think: hotel room) using bodyweight and/or rubberbands? Used to do Insanity Max 30/ P90X but didnt find a version to download to my phone and it requires a bit more space. Especially now that hotel gyms are still mostly closed due to COVID-19
In case this helps anyone in here who doesn’t already know. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. https://nypost.com/2020/04/03/how-hungry-nyc-residents-can-get-free-meals-amid-coronavirus/
Any advice for recent/upcoming grads wanting to break into the industry but not able to find opportunities due to COVID? Thanks!
Some states are cancelling testing for the year. Do you think COVID could be the end of standaridized testing?
Anyone use CBD balm for an injury? Have an injured shoulder that’s been rough for a few months and am not ready to hit up the doctor circuit with Covid risk present, anyone ever use?
Yay!!! No more masks for the vaccinated in most stores! Even more excited to go to Costco than usual 😇
HELP! Roommate is being insistent on not allowing either of us to go out due to covid (except for groceries). We live in Chicago, and phase 4 is starting in a few wks meaning most places will re-open with limited capacity. I’m not trying to go crazy here and hit up every club/restaurant/public place. But I’d like to enjoy a meal out or a small gathering at a friend’s place, things like that (w/ all proper precautions in place) but roommate is not cool with it -how to approach?
Currently working at Accenture as a C (promoted Dec ‘19), but I know I ultimately want to make the jump over to Deloitte. I am on track to be promoted to M in the 2021 promo cycle and I know Deloitte would likely knock me down one level either way. Due to COVID-19, it seems like it doesn’t make sense to jump ship for at least another year while things get back to normal. Any thoughts on if it’s better to wait it out and leave after making M (but how long after?) or try to leave earlier? TIA
I’ve been on a couple dates with a guy and we got ~physical~ on the second date. Third date is this week but due to COVID reasons I want to know if he’s seeing other people... what’s the best way to ask without thoroughly freaking him out? Usually I wouldn’t care this early but I feel like I need to be aware of his “germ pool” 😂
My roommate and best friend refuses to get the covid vaccine whenever it’s available because she believes vaccines gave her sister autism. We’re reaching a point of tension where I can’t bring anything up with her that isn’t topical because she’s going through a lot and becomes easily triggered by anything foreign to her. I can’t move out right now. And it also makes me sad that she’s so close minded about the world. Any advice for coexisting/coping? I predict winter will be tough. TIA...♥️
Interesting study.. After vaccination was readily available - more COVID hospitalizations fit the “mild or asymptomatic” (52% from the dataset) compared to 64% before vaccinations were readily available. Median age 71 years old. This study suggests that A. Vaccination has brought down severity and B. People are going to the hospital/ICU when they don’t need to
Going home this weekend - what is the most time efficient (minimal disruption to work) way to get rapid COVID test?
Need recommendations for things to do tonight and tomorrow night in Boston. I am on-site - Boston downtown till Thursday. First time in Boston. I will most probably be solo (may be 1-2 coworkers but not sure). Want to explore the bar scene, and meet random people (like it used to be before COVID). I know most night clubs are closed on weeknights, so looking for next best thing. M, 30s. Tia.
Will I be at disadvantage in my job hunt if I told prospective employers that I was made redundant in previous job from covid?
Another lie from our car-salesman President. He just said we had the “largest testing capacity in the world”, and that “nobody’s done a better job at testing...” but we can’t test 100 Senators to keep the government running. https://www.axios.com/senate-doctor-mitch-mcconnell-coronavirus-testing-e99282f6-90f5-4e11-8b45-02548f38ab12.html
Do people like those who auditioned in the attached video give others optimism for America's future? Do opportunities like this give optimism for America's future? Are the efforts of these individuals insignificant in today's society? For context, I believe this was filmed right before covid lockdowns. https://youtu.be/JYpJUhXGZq8
Getting covid antibody test. Free through insurance so why not? Knock on wood haven’t had symptoms but I’m curious

Is it true that WPP underpays creatives? I interviewed for a CD position at Grey last year and they wouldn't budge past 180K - and ghosted me when I pushed for 200K.
Does anyone know which big four office has a need for an experienced staff? I really want to be on healthcare/biotech clients
Do you stay at a good firm with a good reputation where you are siloed in a back office role with no growth or go to a lesser known firm with less track record and opportunity to learn and grow? I’m in an extremely operational role and want to leave but the benefits down the line could be grand. How do you evaluate a decision like this?

Producers, what changes are you making in your roles to promote lasting social change? Demanding diversity in reels? Pushing representation in casting? How can we be (and do) better? All ideas are welcome.
Any suggestion for good books on entrepreneurship? Trying to gather insights and motivate myself to finally working for myself.
Regular person goes broke in the pandemic: 4-hour food bank lines and eviction. Company goes bankrupt in the pandemic: employees get laid off and the CEO gets a seven-figure bonus (that's not hyperbole - here's a partial list of companies that have done just that):
Hello Fishes, Cleared TCS interview, HR shared compensation which they would offer(not exact offer letter). Upon my confirmation on the given CTC and location she said she would proceed further. I confirmed and after few days she dropped email saying we regret for the inconvenience, can't proceed further with your candidature. What do you guys think and suggest.

Hi, please assist with writing a motivation. I'm applying to study Software Development within the Company. So far this is what I wrote An opportunity has presented itself and I'm interested in embarking on a journey to study Software Development within the Company. Being given this opportunity to grow at work gives me confidence that I can achieve beyond my job description as a Generic Technician.
Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.
How soon is too soon to ask for a raise? I know the raises in this industry are usually pretty standardized, so wanted to hear some insight about this topic. Thanks!
