Fishbowl parents! Did you take the full parental leave? How much time off? Did you feel there were any repercussions? First time dad here - currently on paternity leave and loving it!
What would you do if you were out on a parental leave for 12 weeks? (Besides taking care of your newborn) Taking ideas!
My father is a boomer and disses crypto meanwhile I’ve made more gains from $100k in crypto than his $2m stock and real estate portfolio…
Deloitte moms, I need your guidance. For some reason, someone (not sure which team) has marked my maternity leave (LOA) starting next week on DTE and I can’t update it to show PTO. I have repeatedly told the Leaves team and MetLife that I’m not starting LOA until the baby comes (due date 10/31, no baby yet). Whom do I contact to fix the DTE issue? If this happened to you, what did you do?
When you see “note: Public Sector staff are not eligible for these new benefits” at the bottom of the new parental leave policy email
EY maternity leave, do you get 16 weeks plus Short Term Disability? Or just the 16 weeks?
Is their a site similar to the knot’s wedding website where I can create a baby site? I wanted to add maternity photos to share with friends/ family, gender reveal video and baby registry.
At what age do you stop taking a bath with your child? My 3 year old & I were in the bath together and suddenly he reached out to my chest and said “mumma, your lungs are outside, mine are inside my body” I was so embarrassed! I told him that those were my breasts and that grown ups have slightly different body parts. I normally take a quick shower before him and sit in the tub with him, as that’s our bonding time. I was wearing underpants so thankfully he didn’t notice my non-existant penis
Baby is 4 weeks old, is up every 1.5 hour and Eats every two hours. With feeding , burping, rocking back to sleep and then pumping cleaning bottles etc. I barely get an hour sleep at night..
Any tips on finding motivation after maternity leave? I’ve never been so uninterested in my job and am instead just thinking of all the time i’m missing with my baby 😕
Going up for promotion next year. Will it impact me to be on maternity leave for the last 2 months of the performance period or will the rest of the year speak for itself? To wait, or not to wait?!?
PwC moms, looking up the paid parental leave policy. It seems like even though I will be eligible for 26 weeks of leave, only 8 of these will be paid. Is that right, looking for guidance here.
Do any other firms have a policy that requires you to return to work for a certain period after paid parental leave, and if you choose to leave you are required to pay it back? If so, is there anyone who decided to leave before the end of that period? What happens if you can’t afford to pay it back?
Curious what other people's parental leave looks like for companies of a similar size and industry. We are about 150 employees in the CPG (beverage) space. We want to improve/expand our paid leave. How much paid time do you give your employees? Do you give the same amount for the primary and secondary caregiver? Please include your company size and industry.
Ladies, any experience and tips for new moms going back to consulting? Is it possible to manage working while putting baby in daycare? And of course, is it possible to stay local?
Hi All. I am a Mom-to-be. Have ample of time to plan for the arrival. Looking to learn from the experiences of new parents here. Please share your experiences around: 1. Support system at home (during and after maternity leave) 2. Joining the workforce back after maternity leave. I have frequently seen women change companies after maternity leave. What changes at workplace?
I know everyone throws this type of question to the bowl but I've been going hard on my finances the last couple of years since I'm trying to buy a starter home for our family. I've paid off student loans, no debt, just a car lease and wondering how this holds up. I'm 35 and my networth is about $345,000. I hear by 40 you should have tripled your salary but that's seems a lot especially for a first gen Latino who parent immigrated here poor. Thanks in advance!
Shoe recommendations for work when pregnant?
What is the eligibility/requirement for maternity leave at Accenture? 1 year full time employment before you can take advantage of leave?
How much Salary should a Level 10 Analyst in the Salesforce group at Accenture get? Is 90k fair?
Currently at 135k base comp, should hit manager by EOY. Should I take a tech program manager position at FB for 200k? What’s better for long term career growth? I hear once you’re at FB, navigating to new teams, projects, and roles is possible.
Is it feasible to make a jump from BizOps to TAS? No accounting experience. One of my good friends says his team is aggressively hiring because they are desperate for talent and he would be able to get my foot in the door. I’m a finance major who has only had consulting/industry experience, but if they’re actually paying what he says they are then it’s a no-brainer for me to jump if given the opportunity - I’d just be worried about failing without a CPA/truly relevant work experience.
Series D tech start up for a strategy and operations role in nyc - what is expected compensation/range I should be going for with base, equity, bonus?
My significant other has 15 days of use or lose time off by the end of year but she is afraid to use any of that time off as it might be perceived negatively at her company.. thoughts?
The only shortlists I care about right now are the ones finance is making. Congrats you are not being laid off and have moved to the final round of judging.
Any agencies with good parental leave policies? Or are most through short-term disability or only partial pay?
Openings at KPMG. DM me for referrals
Just got offered a new job. Ideally, I really want to help my current company as much as I can and be there through cyber week (11/30) before leaving. I also want to take time off between jobs because I am so burnt out. Is early December way too far away of a start date to propose to the new job? Will they look at me like I’m crazy?
Does anyone regret not choosing a more lucrative career? A few friends in PE are making close to half a million a year, and I can’t say I’m not jealous making just over $100K 😖. I recognize that I still make a decent salary, but maybe I should have toughed it out in banking/PE instead?
I'm an older employee who recently made the switch to tech, so I'm at an entry level job with people a decade younger than me. Any tips for navigating the age gap?
Thoughts on non profit exit ops for a tech consultant? I really would like to start doing something that has meaning. Not that aml doesn't bring me fulfillment 😆 but looking to try something new
27, and just got a new job where base comp is 110, and tc will be 130. I’m ridiculously happy I’m finally over 100 in base. However, one of my friends just got a job as a full stack engineer and now makes 130-140k base. I can’t help but feel behind/small. Like them making more means they’re better? Idk just venting.
I want to go with my spouse on a wonderful beach vacation. Our honeymoon (almost two years ago now) was cancelled due to covid, and I had booked us at the St Regis Bora Bora on points. I have been unable to get that deal again, and feel very annoyed. We live on the west coast on the US and would like to go somewhere that is less than 6 hrs of travel, that is romantic, private, quiet, beachy, relaxing. Any resort, boutique hotel or perhaps vacation rental recommendations under $800 a night?
Anyone keen to help me with an Simon-Kucher & Partners referral? Currently an Accenture Strategy consultant looking to make a move
