Looking for advice - signed an offer from firm A 2 weeks ago with joining date next week on Monday. Got another offer from firm B today with 25% higher package and a better role. I made my decision to take up the role with firm B, but need advice on how I communicate to firm A. Should I (A) Join firm A, leave after a month (B) let firm A know now that I am not able to join on Monday? FYI - Firm B is not looking for me to join immediately + I do not need any time off, I can use the $

What's better: leaving Audit to do internal audit at a large company with internal mobility and name recognition, or to do the analyst role you want at a shittier company? Basically, company vs. role.
Had a conversation with the president at my small agency about transitioning from a full-time salary role to contractual work to pursue my long-term goals towards freelance illustration. They were hesitant and told me that I can do that my own work while working as a full-time employee. My hesitations are that clear boundaries would not be set if this is how I move forward in the company. Anyone have any advice at approaching this situation so that it feels win-win?
Currently at a Big 4; director; AI tech strategy and performance improvement; looking for a change. Who’s open to a referral, and earning a referral bonus? Prefer to stay in US consulting.
OMD extended offer this morning. Tried negotiating, but recruiter informed me that the role’s salary was non-negotiable. Is this standard agency procedure? Anything else that can be negotiated?
Does anyone on here have a technical assurance role? Like a partner or director who answers engagement teams’ questions. What’s it like?
I have 5+ years at EY and i think it's time for me to bounce. What remote jobs out there are paying $120k+? Any idea welcome. Past experience not in audit if that matters.
That nice feeling when you work remote this week and u know u won’t have to get up at 3am on Monday morning ! So much sleep to be had. Good night all
What’s the best WFH desk chair?
What is the average time you take to make a decision after receiving a formal job offer letter? The day of, 2-3 days, a week? Told my recruiter to give me 1-2 days to just think it through with my family and she comes back saying she doesn’t know what to tell the hiring managers and says that she will assume that I am interviewing at other places. The recruiter has been very pushy and demanding from the beginning and I just don’t know what to make of it. Advice?
Hi All, I am on the lookout for an opportunity in Delhi NCR for a Sr Manager Quality / Black Belt role.Am based out of Hyderabad and would like to move back as my family is in Delhi...

Moving from risk advisory to m&a at another firm. Will change of role cause issues in h1 transfer?
When in a new role how often is it ok to ask questions to manager for direction? There are things I am sure I can research to possibly find an answer. But asking manager would save a lot of time. Do mangers get annoyed when you ask too many questions?
Is Bezos really that smart or does luck play a huge role? I am sure I am smarter than quite a few at MBB but I still find myself working at a Big 4.
I am 7 years out in a transactional practice (real estate) and have an opportunity to move in house at a regionally respected company from a midsize firm. I have WFH flexibility at my current firm but bill about 1850-1900 per year. It would be about a 25% paycut. I have also been offered partnership starting in 2022 if I stay - not entirely clear what that long term structure looks like (would have to develop a partially independent book in next 3-5 years). Am I crazy if I leave?
I’m starting to feel very flat about my job. Part of its burnout, but I’m realizing the other part is that I’m just not fulfilled by what I do. I just switched teams and have a great and supportive career manager, but my day-to-day client work is soul sucking. I’ve found myself feeling cynical about things. Not sure where to go or how to look. I’m 26, have advanced relatively quickly, but don’t want to start at the bottom again. Any tips on getting started?
Trying to guage my current compensation and if I lowballed myself when taking the offer. Just started as a product manager with 2 years of other experience (coordinator, specialist, and associate) at 85K in Michigan. Different organizations lay differently given their location and size but let me know your thoughts!
Tips on how to learn about the financial space? I am about to start on a new consulting project with an investment firm doing data analytics, but need to get up to speed on the investment domain. Any suggestions?
Not sure if y’all have been in a similar situation but I’m staffed on a project that is mindless busy work and I feel like I’m not progressing in my career. Makes me ponder where I went wrong in life sometimes: How did I do a top-tier MBA just to take a step back in my career? My job pre MBA was way more analytically challenging. Not sure if I’m being super negative or are some of these thoughts normal? Is it WFH syndrome? Thoughts on how to cope?
I’m planning to leave my current employer in January. Have some money in traditional 401k. Wanted to move all into Roth IRA tho.... What’s the consequences of this move? Pay the tax on it? Anything else that I should keep an eye on? Appreciate any advice!
I'm having crazy mood swings and it's not even busy season yet. I am now permanently broken. 15 days of PTO during the year isn't going to fix this
I see posts all the time about the “tough” market going on right now but why cant recruiter and hiring managers give a chance to entry level. I mean real entry level 0-2 years of experience. I honestly do not feel bad for some recruiters that ignore messages because you dont have the experience they are looking for.
Why is that many(in SF especially) say they have not benefited or got anything from RSUs? Were they fired or they asked more of salary and less of RSUs? One would have thought these people who worked for top tech companies including Salesforce would have got "rich"(well off). I had always thought these people would have been OK by now after years of being in the Bay Area working for top tech companies yet they have "nothing" in their banks or assets. Some have had hefty 350K salary. So confused.
I’m curious of everyone’s views on job hopping. I’m on my 3rd job and have ~3 years of sales experience. Each job change has been an increase in comp and has shown clear career progression. At this point I’m working for a well known public company in SaaS, in their SMB segment, which has been great. But I’ve been approached by a smaller startup offering to double my base salary, 2.25x my OTE, and equity for an enterprise rep position. This is very enticing, but would I look like a job hopper?
Biz plan: HR departments change 1 billable hour for guaranteed interviews (30 review plus 30 phone screen) to applicants willing to pay, effectively reversing the cash flow on talent acquisition. Could be done at scale through someone like LinkedIn. Thoughts?
