I only have two lines for extracurricular and both are a single bullet. Two degrees, CPA, one full time job, one internship, one relevant part time job, not much space for anything else.

I have my sections like this. Work experience: first full time job and my internship for that job. This takes up 40 -50%. Education: 2 degrees, CPA, awards and honors received. This is about 20% -30%: Extra curriculares: 1 firm initiative and 1 volunteer activity I do on my own time. This is about 30% - 40%. And then Skills, languages and Hobbies around 5% or whatever space is left over. I’d don’t set myself to certain amount of bullets, I try to reflect on my experience that hit as many of the requirement bullets on the application, but I try to stick to this range. I’ve been pretty successful wit it so far.

I appreciate the breakdown!

I’m surprised you can fit extracurriculars on a one page resume.

like

Deloitte 2 — my extracurriculars are volunteering with a nonprofit. I don’t know if that’s considered relevant.

I put all the degrees up top, have the PA related jobs next with details, and then just a single line and the year(s) I worked there for all jobs unrelated to PA.

Over the years my current position has been taking larger and larger portion of the resume, now prob at 50%. I took volunteering out since I started working bc idk if any experience hiring cares about them. I have two bullets for my BA and MSA degrees, one bullet for CPA and one bullet for tech tools that I have experience with. Early staff experience has two bullets too just because I was working on a different industry’s audits and hoping it would cast a wider net

like

I got my current job in part because one of the people hiring liked the org I volunteer for. Only include if substantial and relevant volunteer work. One brief bullet should suffice.

Thanks all for the advice!

My college's career center helps alumni with resumes for free, you might have them do that. Content has improved but format shouldn't change much from what it was to get your first job.

Looking for advice on the next step. So I started at my company just over 2 years ago as an entry level Sales admin with a split role and at the beginning of this year I moved fully into Sales Support and I'm kind of at a point where I coordinate and support the activity of my team, I fully process all orders and manage/maintain our CRM system, provide monthly & quarterly reports for our senior management team. Is this it? Am I at the top end of this role and need to ask for more progression?

Life of non-immigrants depend on the Visa they hold and it’s so sad these companies don’t have a team where we can speak to someone immediately in case of a visa emergency situation . In EY you need to submit a form and wait for days together to get a reply from a human. Mean time you would have gone through 5 anxiety attacks.
