Need shoe recommendations to walk to lunch 5 blocks each way. It’s too much in pumps. Any recs for flats or wedges that still look nice with suit pants? It’s a nice area and I can’t look frumpy.

Have you considered kitten heels? I hiked all over downtown LA in a pair and my feet were fine! I have Marc Fisher ones that fit my feet really well, but it looks like the style I have aren’t available anymore ☹️. Most kitten heels are 1-2 inches so as long as you have a brand you like you might be able to find a kitten style.

Second kitten heels. Also a small wedged flat. Vionic rocks. Second naturalizer and easy spirit but be style selective as they can be frumpy… although TBH - shoe styles are getting so outrageous I cant care as much anymore about trends.

Wedges for sure! Clarks, easy Spirit and a bunch at Macy's usually!

Ballerinas, eg Chloé’s Lauren style

Merrell pumps. I made it through court days walking miles in major cities in those. Also liked Rothys and Everlane. Past tense because I mostly wear black sneakers now.

I really love block heels! ~2inches is the sweet spot btwn comfort and cute.

Sam Edelman mules with a long rounded toe. Looks dressy but since they are slip on I don’t get the cuts on the back of my feet and they are easier on the toes. Or just keep sandals under your desk and change?

I have a pair of Skechers wedge sandals that have turned out to be my "hiking while cute" shoes - highly recommend! https://www.skechers.com/women/shoes/beverlee---fancy-sips/119200.html

Thank you all for the suggestions. I’m going to look them all up now!

I am obsesssssed with birdies. So cute and comfy. P sure you can get $20 off or something with a referral code too

Not sure if others have had a similar experience - why is it that some Desi people act like total Oreo cookies…so much so that when you try to have a conversation with them they seem not at all interested in associating with a fellow Desi but instead seek out non Desi’s to talk to. Happened at my son’s school event. Seems like they have such a superiority complex. What’s a word for douchebag in Hindi/Urdu?

My brother is currently designated as a automotive designer with a design studio in Italy.

However, he is very good with phygital designs, automotive UX/HMI, and designing VR experiences and would like to explore career opportunities in this area. He has done this phygital work for some major global car manufacturers already.

What kind of opportunities can he get in Europe/US outside of Italy where he can earn better and explore further?

I had an interview last Tuesday at a Law firm that I reallllyyy like, this was the second interview with 2 partners. In my opinion, the interview went well. I answered their questions and towards the tail end of the interview, it was very conversational. But I also understand that it ultimately matters how they think the interview went. I want to follow up about the next steps, and want to know A: is it advisable? B: what should I say without coming off annoying? C: is it too early to reach out?

Hi ladies. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from morning sickness all day every day for the last 5 weeks. It’s been extremely difficult staying on top of everything at work (I’m in a very busy practice group at Kirkland) and am wondering if anyone has gone through this and if anything helped. I’ve tried all of the conventional methods (eating small meals, vitamin B6, ginger etc) but nothing has worked 🥺.

I'm at a small firm with 2 associates and 1 managing partner. The partner fired our 1 paralegal and now puts a lot of paralegal work on me. I'm the first female attorney this firm has had in over 30 years. I'm not allowed to bill for the paralegal work and already have to meet 40 billables/wk. The other associate is a man but has the exact same credentials/experience as me, but gets more cases/high stakes cases and is never asked to do paralegal work. Am I delusional to think my boss is sexist?

How much are 3-5 yr associates making in big law in Denver?

Do any women feel that there is a pattern with balancing the egos and emotional reactions of the males they work with? I am a female senior associate on a partner track at a small firm (25 or less lawyers) and I’m very happy here. I’m the only female in my practice group and it seems like the men (particularly those more at-my-level) constantly have ego issues and problems with their toes being stepped on...

Bc weekends sacrifice their “quality” time? I work til 11 every night and would literally have to find coverage/take time off to pull off a weeknight date. How are single folks working big law hours making time? Every other associate in my group is married to ppl they met pre-work.
