Might as well try it first, that way if you hate it you don't need to waste and MBA internship to find out. That's the plus of consulting, getting really broad exposure. I actually went the other way, and tried to start accumulating experience outside of your typical strategy case.

Has this been your original plan all along or you’re just modeling after the common thing people do in consulting? I ask because you have a technical background.

Been the plan all along - didn’t want do SE even though half my class went to FAANG and wasn’t successful at PM recruiting out of undergrad so this was the next best thing and I like consulting so far and still am interested in strategy related work just keep getting extended on these long implementations so never get a chance —- honestly the exit ops is more of recent consulting hype train thing because I have a year worth of experience in systems eng that i could sell as PM experience and more than enough friends willing to give referrals to FAANG

Im a recent grad on a tech implementation project for a small firm. I’m finding it challenging because I’m expected to know how to solution a user problem based on the system that I really don’t know all the ins and outs of. I enjoy the req gathering/PMO activities, but thinking of data mapping and integrations is such a new way of thinking than a typical strategy-based case study. Do strategy ppl find these tech implementation difficult?

Anyone else experiencing strain in your relationships being at home all day with your significant other? I usually did well separating work things stress, priorities etc… when I was traveling. Literally able to leave it behind at the office and take my commute home either flying or otherwise as my time to myself to decompress so ready to take on family life when I got home. But with WFH I find myself struggling with this as stress is bleeding in with how I interact at home.

In other industries, when there is an employee shortage for a specific field, the company would increase the salary and benefits for that position because of the law of supply and demand. Why doesn't this work for education? Shouldn't teachers be paid more because we are in short supply? Should certain subjects be paid more?
