Need some career advice. I’m currently a Salesforce consultant in healthcare, looking to pivot to work within the political sphere - specifically social impact/policy. I’m passionate about driving societal change, and have struggled to feel like I can do so in my current role. Healthcare is also not of particular interest to me.

What are some possible routes I can take from here? And/or specific companies I should look into?

You’ll likely need to follow an academic route...public policy, law school, etc.

Apparently grifting can land you the presidency but the traditional route would be academia and/or work in the public sector.

like

Definitely do NOT go to law school

Also can you define what “driving societal change” means?

Following as well.....currently I’m just trying to find the pro bono projects within my company

I’m on a very similar boat OP.

Value Vs Price

While selling something I believe in, I've always focused on the value to justify the price & leave a little room to negotiate.

If I personally believe in a terrific, purposeful value packed product that commands a certain price- I would make sure it gets reflected the way you position, pitch and solves a crucial pain point like no other.

Reason being simple- If you believe in something it's easy to sell

Hi everyone, I’m seeking general advice on how to best set myself up for success. I’ll be entering a high earning job (200k salary) at 25, no debt or other assets. I would appreciate any general advice you guys have, as well as advice on retirement accounts:

Assuming I can max out my 401k/Roth IRA, would you guys recommend doing backdoor Roth, or just max out the accounts and then keep the rest of my savings in a regular brokerage? And why?

I’m a senior working in audit for 6 years now. Recently I felt stuck in audit where progression is slow and salary is lower compared to other service lines. I am considering to go to advisory, but not sure which strand of advisory service. Any recommendations? (Thinking of CCaSS). My main consideration is compensation (including bonus) and exit options. I can’t see myself in public practice forever!

I’m an insurance analyst 2 (servicing) for nationwide. I have a P&C insurance license, just slightly over two years experience, a 1.5 year 100% quality evaluation record. I have gotten to the current position I am in very quickly, comparatively to other folks b/c of my performance. I work odd hours to receive additional pay, which is good. I believe I make about $57k. Given that I don’t have much experience in the industry, I don’t know if this is good pay. Looking for advice advice to advance.

Anyone done DIY attic insulation?

Our attic insulation is terrible--had a home energy audit yesterday and the guy said it has a whopping R-value of 7 due to age and settling (~35 year old house).

We're waiting on a quote for cellulose loose fill to get it up to an R-value of 49, and I'm also looking at DIY options in case the quote comes back $$$ for the ~700 sq ft unfinished space.
