My vote is to keep it on and address if it comes up. It’s a small world. You also don’t know if the COO has already seen your LinkedIn/resume in which you come off as deceitful.
Question: Should I take the startup that fired me off my LinkedIn? I was only there for 4-5 months. Given I was fired for performance, I don’t want the COO of my current company asking if I know the other CEO or anything

Keep experience off your resume/LinkedIn. You never worked there.
If it comes up, I would be honest and say what you’ve learned. No one is perfect. Startups have to move very quickly so being let go quickly is pretty common. What you learned is more important than what you did or didn’t do to get let go.
