Please help me decide: Option 1 - stay at current big 4, get promoted this year, current comp $91k. ( project 20% increase with promotion would be like $110k) Option 2 - jump to a fairly large credit union now, lateral move no title bump, comp becomes $110k
Any update on the Mid year hike/promotion?
When is the best time to ask for a raise?
Is a breakaway from Tech consulting to economic development possible? What are your stories or stories you’ve heard? Thanks for all advice/opinion. 2 years in after college with recent promotion
When you get a raise, do you typically request it in writing or just…wait to see it on your next paycheck…?
Sidebar on Google firing...raise your hand if you've actually written a memo. What was the topic and to whom was it sent?
If you were just promoted at your current company right before getting offered a new job at a new company, what’s the best way to use your promotion to negotiate for a higher offer?
Hello. I am an associate analyst who joined in 2019 . I did my mca online. Milestone to analyst 2022. Is it possible to fasten my promotion to consultant ?
I need to get a pulse check on my sanity... i live in Michigan, and sports gambling has become legal in the past year. Now every other commercial is about sports gambling, sports announcers are making in game advertisements, I get hit with social media ads, so on and so forth. I’m not against sports gambling, but the constant promotion seems like “corporate America” is taking advantage of addictive human tendencies, and contributing to the perpetuation of wealth inequality in America.. am I nuts
Raise your hand if you’ve gotten this mind-blowing brief: it’s delicious AND nutritious
What are some specific action items you do when you’re aiming for a promotion for your next promotion cycle? I understand review cycles/processes vary by firm but is there anything you do that is more widely applicable? Such as documenting the work you completed and the resulting achievements weekly, etc.
Anyone hear if their firm is going to adjust for inflation? 5% is real, so anything less than a 5 % raise will be less pay.
Is it possible to become a senior software engineer too soon? I’m coming up on one year at a startup as my first job out of college, and a promotion to senior dev seems to keep being brought up without me even suggesting it. Though I’ve taken on large ownership roles and have learned quickly, I can’t help but think senior dev in ~1 year dilutes the value of it.
Would you rather get big raises when firm does well and no raise in a bad year or get similar raises each year?
I just realized that my raise last year isn't really a raise because inflation is so high. How many companies only give raises through promotions?
What's your office promotion day venue?
What would you do ? 26 years old, work 9 to 9, work weekends, take an extra load because you can to get to the next promotion. Or work normal hours, workout, enjoy time with family, advance normally.
Playing the market for higher TC at other Salesforce consulting firms like Deloitte, Accenture, PWC, Silverline. I’m very close to my C1 promotion here at cap and think it will be announced in the next few weeks. Should I stay or should I go if I get an offer with $200k+ TC? Currently at $120k
I rarely work more than 5-6 hours a day and I'm kind of dreading the upcoming promotion (aside from the money, which is nice). -Associate
Just got engaged 😊😊. Need some advice. We both have two homes already. 1. Is it always better to get a third home ? 2. If yes, is better to rent out or sell the other two homes? Both homes mortgages are $1250 & $1450 and 1500 sqft & 2200 sqft respectively. Both homes are 3 bedrooms. 3. If we are getting a third home what price range is recommended? We are based in Houston and HHI is going to be $380,000(including bonus & rsu) & $300,000 base. We are 27F & 30 M and no kids yet.
Best consulting firms for real inclusion?
HSA for Working Parents now on the Same Insurance Policy. My husband and I have been on our own insurance plans and contributing to our HSAs, but with the birth of my daughter my husband dropped his insurance and is covered by my family plan. He is now getting charged fees by his HSA provider for not making contributions. They told him he can’t transfer the HSA to my plan because HSAs can’t transfer to another person. What do other couples do that are in this situation?
A friend has offers for Bain and BCG Dubai at the consultant level (joining just after his MBA) and he is confused on which one to take. Any thoughts to help him make a decision? Things he cares about are total compensation, career progression, mobility/ transfers to other offices and casework focus on tech (if any).
Happy Friday🐠🐟🐳🐋🐬🦈! I recently got let go at ATK. Then I found my dream job right away. I used my ATK bonus, relocation, severance, and new bonus to pay off all my wife and I's student loan...
Should I be concerned? I found out that my billable rate is significantly less than my peers due to heavy client discount. Does this affect career growth at all?
Has anyone been extremely close to quitting their job during Covid to only back out at the last minute? I’m definitely feeling burnout from being cooped up inside all day.
A student walked into my classroom with this today, and I can't tell you how badly I needed it. 🥰
What does an Operating Partner at a PE firm make (base/bonus/carry/other benefits)? How hard is it to make that move as a big4 Manager/Senior Manager or is there another way in?
CBS acceptees: How did you guys access slack for admitted students? I have an email but not sure
What hotel branch should I become loyal to? New joiner to consulting and was going to commit to Marriott but heard it’s getting bad..
Hey Wayfair. What is the typical comp for a Lead Analyst? To be specific, this role exists within their Advanced Analytics & Insights department.
Received an offer for a BizOps Manager role at Instacart for 108K base + 150RSU over 4 years. Previous big 4 consulting experience & smaller tech startup experience - 4.5YOE total. Current base is higher but lower equity potential. Any Thoughts?
I'd like to see a huge increase in my salary because why stay in defense contracting without the money/this industry wears on you. Currently make $133k at Booz and have turned down $150k offers from smaller contracting firms because we all know what the downsides of those are. Feasible to hit $180k+ as a PM with a mid-size or competing firm (e.g. Accenture, NOT Deloitte)? I am non-technical, niche/somewhat hard-to-find skillset, secret, 15 YOE.
Is there a rule when one is conducting witness interviews for an internal investigation that you should not show the witness a specific email that he or she is not involved in (email A) even though he or she might be involved in an earlier email in the same email chain (email B) and these two emails are in the same email chain/exhibit and you inadvertently show the witness email A? Sorry if this was poorly worded…running on very few hours of sleep
Looking for some advice! I am currently employed as a Project Coordinator. I am looking into ways to to advance my skill sets and move forward in my career. Thoughts/recommendations on a Scrum Master certification? Anyone know of remote entry level jobs open in this field? TIA
For those who are enrolled in Day 1 Cpt schools, does your company reimburse you for the tuition? I am paying it myself right now.
