How do people deal with a really crushing, can completely, unfair loss? Filed a motion for temporary child and spousal support and the judge ordered my client to pay more than his salary. Obviously will be filing a motion to reargue and possibly an appeal. But those take forever and in the mean time I have a very upset client. It’s such a misapplication of the law and a horrendous judge but it’s hard to explain that to the client who is obviously very upset and can’t understand how this happened

I'm in a good place financially being on retainer but I want to be pushed more creatively as a personal objective because I feel I'm not getting it at my current contracting agency. That would mean revising or going off retainer to open up more working hours for unknown possibilities.

I've been thinking a lot about women in leadership positions and their choices to support or undermine other women, especially if those other women are talented/skilled and perceived as a threat. In the very competitive space of advertising/marketing, scarcity is a dynamic that may compel some women leaders to be unempathetic, uncompassionate, distant and even bullying and scapegoating to hold onto their position and be taken seriously. It's sad, weak, and hurts all of us. What do you all think?

Considering an exit to a startup that just completed a solid series B. They’re willing to provide competitive comp package and surprised how large the base is for a startup. Has me concerned about being on the high end and being the first person that comes to mind when it’s time to pinch a few pennies or clean up the books ahead of future rounds/IPO. So approximately three months ago I accepted a customer service position with a newly “corporate owned company” it was previously locally owned by a local owner. I just went through LinkedIn and i figured out that mostly all of you are from either of IIM Ahmedabad, Banglore or Calcutta. It kinda demotivated me and have lost hope to even think that i can be a part of MBB someday as i am from tier 2 IIM.
