Need thoughts from fellow tech-focused folks:

I currently work in a data analytics role (Big 4). I have an offer from a mid-sized hedge fund to do business analytics (essentially management reporting), but have interviews with Google (product analyst - data science) and Citadel (compliance project manager) lined up. Is it worth foregoing the mid-sized hedge fund for the shot at the other roles? Hedge funds or tech the better place to be?

A former private equity MD once told me, you can make great money in tech. But if you want to hit F you money you need to be in IB/PE/VC doing the same role.

I mean I’m at google and have pretty competitive comp but being a program manager/strategist with a hedge fund certainly would perk my ears up.

like

Accept the offer, no harm in pursuing Google and see where it takes you. You are in the drivers seat to take the final decision

like

Citadel pays very well and has a lot of ex Google. They are super smart but I have heard they work you really hard

Google is a long process and our hire rate can't be more than 10% (at best).

Would be silly in my mind to pass up a good offer for a 10% chance with us

Hello fishes,

From TCS background team, one person called me and asking me to share the screen by opening UAN portal regarding service history.

The problem is I've not mentioned couple of companies experience at beginning of my career since that experience is irrelevant to what I'm working now. So my question is how to answer if he ask what about other companies relieving letter and all?
Any suggestions.

Hey, friends! I’ve been asked to give some workshops on the business of art. How much should I charge for something like this? For context, I’m an NYC actor with 6+ years of experience spanning nationally recognized regional theatre credits, audiobooks narrations with large publishing houses and one primetime network tv role. Interested clients are mostly student orgs at colleges/universities with theatre programs as well as arts nonprofits for high schoolers, so not massive budgets. Thanks!

How tough is it to break into a FAANG PM role at mid-level if you have less prestigious experience? I have 10+ YOE in product, but some was at a tiny meh startup that fizzled out, some was in the digital wing of a large old healthcare org, and though my current role is GPM at a “name brand” tech company, it’s on the smaller side. I'm currently in house with great work life balance with terrible benefits (no fertility insurance coverage/no paid mat leave). I love my team but bored at work. Hiring right now for in house counsel at tech companies is crazy - I'd get double my salary plus fertility coverage, paid maternity leave and more exciting work. Downside is I know my work life balance will be gone. Planning for a kid in the next 6 months. Should I leave my job or stay?

Hey sharks!

I have prior experience of React+AWS (2yrs)
Then joined an org where I was bound to work on plain js and outdated libs (1 yr)
I gave numerous interviews.
Common feedback : You're very strong in Js but seems like you're not day to day coding in React (which is absolutely true).
In current org work pressure is quite much, tough to practice seperately. (Theoretical knowledge of react is good, but need practical knowledge)
Requested my org to assign me react proj, they didnt.

Hello fellow SAP Consultants!
I am SAP HCM consultant having 4.10 years of experience. I feel that this module doesn’t have any growth. My first switch took me to 9LPA from 6LPA and now the second switch is being offered for 11.5LPA where I can see my fellow friends in SAP having more than 15LPA at the same experience on their second switch itself. Should I be worried about my skillset? Any insights would highly be appreciated. I feel stuck.

For a project, I would like to program something with a back end and a front end. It should be easy and focused especially on analytics. This is what I wish the tool would do:
- import excel/csv configuration table
- calculation & analytics (sas/r/python style)
- export csv
- allow for visuals (bar charts etc.)
- it should work on/ offline and should be able to be executable without having specific software installed

I was thinking R shiny style. Do you have suggestions/ ideas where to start?
