My first therapy appointment tomorrow! I’ve never dealt with depression before having my second kid and my PPD was/is rough! Filling out the intake form I basically had to list out all the things I’ve dealt with - rape, mom issues, death in family during pandemic, kid hit by car, ppd, and a slew of over things… looking forward to working through these things over time, whatever that might look like.

I wish I would have had this bowl ten years ago 😔 I recently was diagnosed with ADHD. I have been able to manage this far with coping mechanisms but I recently got divorced, have four kids and a busy job with a lot of aspects that are new to me. Now I may get fired for “lack of attention to detail” and “missing deadlines.” I wish I had looked into this so much earlier. I’m two weeks into taking Wellbutrin but I think it takes awhile to kick in, my psychiatrist suggested starting with that…

Insurance question. Change to husband’s insurance which has higher premiums but no deductible and 100% coverage for certain services. Or stay on my high deductible plan with large deductible but I have the HSA? Other option would be just to move kids to my husbands, they use a decent amount of healthcare between doctors and therapists, and keep myself on high deductible so that I can contribute to HSA (although firm match may be lower).

However a new role in industry might not be as easy either and I'll need to prove myself, where as currently I'm already regarded as a high performer and gained trust.

Anyone else feel obligated to take family/friend referrals to healthcare providers? My brother is a dentist and, in light of some work I need done, said "hey! Go to so-and-so at such-and-such.
