You'll have to go in at Manager. Analyst and Consultant hiring is almost entirely through campus recruiting. I'm guessing even Manager will be a difficult switch without Strat experience and executive support.
Go through firmsconsulting The Consulting Offer (TCO) to learn how to dissect strategy issues the proper way. Then when you are ready start talking to strategy people....the knowledge you learn during TCO will help you breaze thru any strategy questioms they may throw at you.
Then ask to be put on a strategy project and tell them to help you transfer into their practice only if you do well.
One piece of advice....you probably wont get a raise when you transfer into strat. So you will have to use the acn strat position as leverage to go somewhere else
Do you want to move within Accenture or to other strategy firms? Internally I would say chat with people you know it strategy and ask for their advice or an interview. Externally, I'd say look at the other firms when they show up on campus to recruit MBAs
I would prefer internally but don't know where to start :(
I'd try chatting to some of the strategy folks in your office. You have access to the people pages and internal material to see what they're into which may well help identify areas where you may most be able to help. E.g. Tech strategy might be focused on something in your area or one of the other practices might be focused on something that applies your tech skills as well as the new found MBA skills.
Thank you acn1
Start by articulating your motivation to do so ? Are you lusting for some strategy ?
