You'll have to go in at Manager. Analyst and Consultant hiring is almost entirely through campus recruiting. I'm guessing even Manager will be a difficult switch without Strat experience and executive support.

like

Go through firmsconsulting The Consulting Offer (TCO) to learn how to dissect strategy issues the proper way. Then when you are ready start talking to strategy people....the knowledge you learn during TCO will help you breaze thru any strategy questioms they may throw at you.

Then ask to be put on a strategy project and tell them to help you transfer into their practice only if you do well.

One piece of advice....you probably wont get a raise when you transfer into strat. So you will have to use the acn strat position as leverage to go somewhere else

like

Do you want to move within Accenture or to other strategy firms? Internally I would say chat with people you know it strategy and ask for their advice or an interview. Externally, I'd say look at the other firms when they show up on campus to recruit MBAs

I would prefer internally but don't know where to start :(

I'd try chatting to some of the strategy folks in your office. You have access to the people pages and internal material to see what they're into which may well help identify areas where you may most be able to help. E.g. Tech strategy might be focused on something in your area or one of the other practices might be focused on something that applies your tech skills as well as the new found MBA skills.

Thank you acn1

Start by articulating your motivation to do so ? Are you lusting for some strategy ?

Is there a general expectation that a Partner has an MBA?

I doubt it's required at most firms but I'm a pretty senior staff and when I speak with Partners, they seem to speak with an MBA level of business knowledge which extends past their technical skillset.

I realize that's what makes them good Partners but it makes me wonder if I realistically need to get an MBA to keep growing and hit Partner.

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's Master's in Management. They both have the same requirements, generally speaking, including a field immersion course that serves as a capstone in the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

I’m looking to leave my job and have 2 interview processes going on at the moment. One is with a company I love with a role that would be a good challenge and double my current pay, but they have a hiring freeze at the moment with an end date this fall (supposedly). The other is a great opportunity for me to lead a team and a whole program with a little less money than the other role. Would it be bad if I join the 2nd role then leave in a few months for the 1st one if I got an offer?

My recruiter told me I️ would be hired as an FTE after 3 months now they keep extending me month by month & the instability of not having health benefits makes me feel extremely anxious. I️ initially wasn’t interested in contract jobs but thought it would be a good opportunity for my career. Im thinking of sticking around but also debating looking for a new opportunity w/ more stability/clarity. Any advice? I was wondering if the review course “CPE Self Study Course” for the CFF was enough preparation to study and pass the CFF exam. The CFE review course was enough and like if you get a question wrong it explains it well so that when it comes up in a different way in the real exam you can still get it. But when I saw the outline for the CFF material and there seems to be a lot of topics so I was wondering if the review course was sufficient considering this exam is also multiple choice. Thanks!
