Need to put in a two weeks notice soon but with the timing of the holidays, everyone is on PTO. Is it unprofessional to e-mail my notice? Should I call first to announce my resignation then send it?

It really depends on your office leadership but the consensus is to avoid emailing notice at all costs. You'll get some unreasonable folks that say it 100% has to be in person but this isn't an industry that always makes that easy with client site demands. My advice is that a phone call is completely acceptable if an in person meeting isn't a realistic option. If you're worried about cold calling, maybe send an email asking for the best time for a quick call and then offer to discuss in person when there's more time

AM1, I definitely think you’re right. The company policy is to notify the partner and HR which technically the e-mail would. If I did that though, it would probably leave a bad taste behind and I don’t want to do that. Especially given the timing and busy season approaching.

I gave my notice during the July 4 shut down. I went in person and HR said I could have done a call instead so that’s probably your best bet.

I have the same problem OP - would love to hear strategies of how to tell people and what order

Do it on 1/1

When I decided to leave I let the SM that I was close to know first. I worked remote 2hours away from my old office so a call was all I could do. I would certainly not email. These are people I would assume you consider your friends? Give a call, say you want to move forward on it and ask for the steps to do so. Forget burning bridges, email is just not something an adult should do when resigning.

Hi everyone. I interviewed for a sales role at Amazon. I was told the role was an L6 and I can stay based in Chicago. Well, the recruiter emailed me today saying the hiring team felt I was better suited for an L5 role (estimated total comp is $140K-$150K) and I would have to move to Seattle. They'll send me an offer if that works. Any advice or opinions on how to negotiate? For context, I gave a desired salary range of $280K-$310K since this was an L6 role, and my current TC at P&G is $200K.
