She’s 14 weeks, you have another 26 weeks to be on the job before the baby is here. I don’t think you need to mention it until she’s around 30 weeks pregnant but that’s just my take.
Fourteen weeks is not that far along. You would still have a handful of weeks before you have to go on paternity leave. Wait until the offer is signed and finalized before discussing your inevitable leave. I'm sure you need that job to support your growing family, so don't risk it before it's even yours.
Do not mention until necessary. Usually HR policies dictate 30 days notice. It’s very common to communicate needs after the anatomy scan around 20 weeks or so. This exact scenario presented itself for me except I was the one pregnant and was up for promotion. Signed the promotion offer then communicated to manager closer to six months. No issues what so ever, total support from my manager and managers manager and was still given a raise at the end of fiscal year because of the quality of my work. Trained support staff prior to my leave and left my team in great shape. You will have plenty of time to prepare before you take your leave. I’d wait if I were you.
My pleasure! Best of luck to you and your wife
I would wait. No need to tell them until closer to the time. You are still a great way away from needing the time. Good luck on your new job and the new baby!
You have a lot of time. Take the offer, some things are beyond your control...
Wife is 22 weeks and I’m interviewing as well. Been thinking about this a lot lately
You're overthinking it when you clearly still have plenty of months to deal with the job in between accepting it and having to inform the admin of having to take a paternity leave. You don't even have to tell them about it until around 30 weeks into the pregnancy. Also, congratulations on your growing family!
I would definitely figure out the policy because some companies require you to be there for 12 months prior to qualifying for leave. Negotiate it in if you need to! I was 4 months pregnant when I took a job at BofA. I had to bring it up and negotiate it in.
Ohh. In that case, you can talk about it with HR. They may or may not grant it though.
Yes. I would tell them later down the road after you have been there a little bit. Defintely don't tell them before you sign and complete the offer.
