Preferred / best rice cooker?
My grandma is super healthy so you can try what she does... just walk around the neighborhood really early in the morning and wave your arms/hands wildly and stop in front of random houses to slap different parts of your body
Make sure to slap your lower back and thighs. Those are the most important parts
Yo idk what its called, but my grandma's japanese friend SWEARS by that morning stretching/exercise routine that used to be on the radio everyday. Most flexible and lively grandma i know!
Stretching in the morning is SO important. Gotta let that qi flow, ya know? Even if it’s just 5 minutes you feel a difference.
Drink warm/hot water. Drink green tea after meals. Try herbal teas like jujube tea. Don’t sleep past midnight and don’t eat at least 3 hours before you sleep. Don’t sleep with wet hair.
I can vouch for those headaches! It’s supposed to happen usually before it rains and it’s just terrible migraines.
For those who read Chinese - essentially I’m trying to 養生 (sorry can’t find English for this)
C5 the literal meaning of 養生 is “preserve health”, using natural means and resorting to our basics

Consistent sleep schedule. Start getting ready for bed at 9:30 pm, lights out 10 pm, up at 6 am. MWF heavy weight lifting following a strength training program. Tues/Thurs minimum, cardio at the same time you normally do strength training
I work more hours than you are awake 😐 Kudos

Also drink warm lemon water in the money and eat a ton of pomegranate
Love it. anything in the money is better than something out of money
All about the green tea and cutting out every other sugar drink including OJ
Nothing is more effective more than daily exercise, vegetable-heavy and moderate calorie diet, and not stressing out. Stress and obesity are by far the biggest causes of health issues

Not Asian tip but generally I’ve stopped caring about the superficial metrics of health and care more about my own overall well-being. It’s helped tremendously in 2020 where I’m generally a more healthier person from a fitness and mental perspective. I used to hate how Asian culture glorified the skinny figure that really isn’t a “healthy” body, know many Asians who are skinny but have high blood pressure and poor cardio health. Do what makes you happy
So true people think I’m fit and strong as hell based on how I look but in reality I get tired and out of breath walking up a tiny hill
kimchi! daily. probiotics yo.
I tried to exercise daily for at least 30 mins. I would recommend an App to track your daily activities and also offer exercise instructions.
I drink probably 2-3 cups of green tea every morning and found that it helped with my digestion and diet (I also do intermittent fasting so its a way for me to intake something before breaking my fast at lunchtime)
My mom always stresses to protect your knees and head from cold wind. In the winter, she wears leg warmers over her knees
I'm excessive and do goji berries+chrysanthemum flowers. I clown my mom for the yeet hay concept, but everytime I get a canker sore I eat 'cool' foods LOL

Glass of cold water with lemon in the morning - not "Asian" but helps kickstart the day
I make a matcha “americano” every morning so I don’t reach for coffee. Definitely no jitters and concentrate better most of the day.
I went pretty much this whole year sober (aside from getting drunk with friends once pre-covid). Drank at least 2 cups a tea everyday + begun to appreciate all the little things in life. GAME CHANGER. qol has never been better.
For people who drink tea, where and what brand do you buy? Is it on Amazon?
Pu-erh tea
Keep your feet warm when you sleep.
