About a year ago I was one step below VP making ~157k including bonus, but that was in SF. Manager told me I was underpaid so I left.
Similar. At a bank in Chicago and tied to a tech team (not UX team), Sr level, earning about 157k as well. Work maybe 30-35 hours a week, manage nobody...enjoy getting every holiday off + generous pto compared to agency life.
90-140k
Mid-level at a bank for me was $120k with 3 YOE. I probably could have negotiated a sign-on bonus as well and that would have put my total comp (base + sign-on + annual bonus) at close to $150k+. The bank I interviewed with was a top 5 but def one of the less prevalent ones.
Is it truly all about the money? People that you work with, tasks, salary, paid courses/ education, remote flexibility are among things that you should negotiate.
