Ex-Consulant here that now works for a big name Real Estate Investment Trust. Saw on LinkedIn that EY has an America’s REIT Leader. Didn’t know that much attention was paid to the REIT space. Are there really consulting teams dedicated to the REIT space in the Big 4? Love working for a REIT and would love to jump back to consulting if there were teams dedicated to the industry. I just moved to a foreign country and I am really in need of a job. I applied to a big 4 and spent weeks making it through interviews only to get turned down, because they wanted someone with big 4 experience. How can I get big 4 experience if a big 4 isn’t willing to hire me? I feel defeated.
How important is it to get your CPA in the long run/ outside of big 4? Would CFE be beneficial? I’m a forensics staff.
When you explain to your non-accounting friends what the Big 4 is and they say, "oh sounds like the Ivy League for accounting firms" >>>>

Was thinking between CMU , Berkeley , Georgie tech . Would prefer something that doesn’t need GMAT, less than 100k total tution and good brand name . Thank you. !!!
Thinking out loud..... can a person join any accounting firm, including big 4 with a marijuana felon (6 years ago)?
Anyone have experience with FDD at a B4 vs more of a specialized firm like A&M? I'd expect the latter to pay more, but curious if the deals worked on are actually different or there would be a diff vibe at an A&M tier. Trying to get out of audit, but not sure it's worth sticking in B4 since not feeling EY at the moment.
Do those from MBB and BB banks have best shot at B School? I rarely hear about T2s and Big 4 getting into m7
How much does big 4 pay for risk / internal audit for an experienced senior in NYC? Would 90k be on the lower end?
A friend of mine from the Big 4 is leaving to go for his PhD this fall. I actually have considered doing that myself at some point. How much demand is out there for professors in the next 5-10 years?
Hi Tax Bowlers, I'm an experienced associate (2yrs) in a Big 4 Transfer Pricing division. I have reached a point in my career where I am considering taking up a professional certification. Several colleagues recommended taking up either ACCA or CFA, however, I see little connection between these certifications and the work that I am currently doing, and what I plan to do in the future. What would you guys suggest? Would it be detrimental to my career if I did not take up any certifications?
Will a sr. assoc be asked to quit immediately if they hand in the 2 week notice for another b4? What’s the best way to tell your partner and colleague?

The GTM strategy at my company is not the best or strongest. Does anyone have any books, articles or suggestions on how to learn more about this topic? Marketing wise I feel like my team checks the boxes but every time we are getting for a launch it doesn’t hit the mark.

Anyone successfully navigate burn out without leaving your current role? Feeling overwhelmed for more than a month and think it might be easier to start fresh than to dig myself out. Worried about the impression I would leave if I left now though.
I was supposed to go out of town this weekend but I’ve been up most of the night because I’m sick 🙄🥺 Now I just feel sad and bored, so much for celebrating on being vaccinated 🥲
Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.
Quick question. If you have an approved I-140, and want to switch jobs, does the new employer need to restart the green card application for you? How does this work? Thank you!

Ugh. I went on vacation last week for meeting my boyfriend’s family for the 1st time/his sister’s wedding. I’ve been trying to lose quarantine weight for the past 5 months ahead of this trip (healthier eating, working out 5-6x a day, calorie deficit). I was getting back to my old physique pre covid. But during this trip I just ate everything without thinking twice. Especially when his family would offer food cause I didn’t want to be rude. Now I feel back to square 1. Continued below..
