I have an offer from @Morgan Stanley for 36 lpa.. 8 years, Java backend developer.. I am also about to have a managerial round with Mercedez Benz and Zscaler.. Morgan Stanley they said I initially I will have to work on existing applications and later move on to microservices project.. Both Benz and Zscaler are working on good tech stack.. Are any of these worth considering if they match what Morgan Stanley is offering?

Working with a large start up who acquired a more traditional IT company. They are doing a ton of cloud migration projects to support the integration and there is a huge debate between the two companies as whether to run this agile or waterfall. We’re being brought in to take over program management (“neutral third party”), I think agile works fine for any type of project would like to get other perspectives. They ultimately want consistency... Thoughts? Any tips of how to make this successful?

Any tips on presentation anxiety? Almost a decade into my career and I still go full panic before and during every weekly client conversation. Imagine for a moment that all strategic consulting firms in the region would have consultants work no later than 9pm. Do you think the quality of the output would decrease? Or maybe the pricing the client is willing to pay would be lower? Or perhaps nothing would happen? I am thinking whether we work long hours because it’s by now part of work approach and culture or because we need to. (Personal experience: in London for my same firm I used to work much less and the output was great…)

You guys, what’s a weekly rate? This kinda smells like some bullshit.... isn’t is just a way to make you work weekends for way less money than you’d normally make with a day or hourly rate?

I’m not convinced that contracting on 1099 is better than W2, since you pay 15% extra self employment tax.

If you have one 1099 gig you can claim all your expenses for the year against that and then go W2 for the rest. Am I missing something?
